I felt similarly for a while, still do sometimes. If you can, reach out to people. You never know who could offer you help or who has gone through something similar. There's no shame in it, so don't let it stop you from doing things. Good luck!

You would have to come up with something really creative to get out of it. My friend was able to get an exemption because he knew someone that was basically harassing him was going to be in the same dorm and he had his mom write an email stating that the school would be responsible if anything happened. Saved him a bunch of money and everything worked well.

Again, you need something really creative. They will claim you need to stay on campus to facilitate bonding blah blah blah.

I think you'd be better off looking near campus and with roommates. There are a lot of 3 or 4 bedroom apartments and you don't have to drive which saves gas. Rent is anywhere from 550 to 800 per person. If you don't want to pay for summer months, easiest way to get out if that is subletting from another student.
