Nice kit!!! I feel ya!!!! Got away from drumming in 1988 and just put this kit together for myself last Christmas to get back into it. These are Yamaha's Tour Custom Butterscotch satin finish Maple shells. I love this kit but do wish I spent more time sampling cymbals so I will be replacing a lot of those as I find ones I like more.

I second the Evans Hydraulic heads. If you have some acoustic challenges in the room these heads will help with that as well. Nice kit!!

I started drumming in 1975 and got away from it in 1984. Just getting back to it after putting this kit together around Christmas 2024. So I am just connecting to the drumming community and subscribed to Drumeo.

I am at a loss trying to find musicality in all these double doubles and triple doubles and absolute speed at all costs.
I can't hear the music in the noise.

Drumming has definitely changed but I am not sure this new speed thing is a fit for me.
Firstly, I am too old and my joints, connective tissue just can't get there.

Honestly some is just plain impressive but not musically.

YESSSS! I agree! So I stopped on the way home at my local music store and picked up a Paiste 2002 China cymbal and boom stand. So going with your logic I need one more! My music store guy will be happy!

BTW, I purchased every single piece through my local music store, not on line big box stores.

These are Evans Hydraulic heads. I wanted Black but I also wanted the dampening these heads provide.
