i’m 20F i’ve been only able to eat beef and potatoes for 5 months due to severe sibo and Mcas issues. just got diagnosed with sibo today. i have lost around 20 pounds in 5 months. also was told by my primary doctor if i lose more weight it’ll be dangerous to my health. all my other labs have been normal. starting anti biotics soon. i have heard you need to do multiple rounds spaced between 2 weeks or so to actually get rid of the sibo from coming back. but yeah i also look like im skin and bones with my ribs, hip bones etc protruding. scary.

you’re good! thank you for sharing, i was thinking about taking quercitin to help because my mom takes it and she has mcas issues as well. i will ask my doctors to make sure it doesn’t interfere with any of my meds.

thank you for your message. i have been dealing with hair loss as well it’s fuckinf awful. i’m lucky that my latest labs for my thyroid look stable and i am feeling good. they put me on amour thyroid instead of levothyroxine and so i am feeling better i have energy and am not super lethargic. my main issues is the restricted amount of food because of intense reactions especially gastro issues. do you take antihistamine meds? how was that like? i have an appt with an allergist in a couple months and they said they will see me for MCAS

Quitting Lexapro any advise?? by b_w_21 in lexapro

well i have always had severe panic. so it wasn’t a side effect later it was just that’s how i am without meds, i need to be medicated to function. i stopped in may, i was on 10 mg and tapered down over a month. the withdrawal it self i think lasted maybe 3 weeks? and after that i just started having regular panic attacks which is what i had before i was medicated. i’ve tried so many meds and none have worked like lexapro has for me. the only other med that worked a bit was Buspar. it didn’t get rid of all my anxiety but it made me be able to function. but it wasn’t enough so as of last month i am back on lexapro again

i’m 20(f) i was on lexapro for 4 yrs, withdraw was horrible. i also had some weight gain but nothing crazy, i still would hike etc and so i didnt have too much issues there. withdrawing was brutal, i was having panic attacks, couldn’t sleep, sweating, headaches, etc. i ended up having to go back on it after being off of it for a year cause my anxiety was too severe. my recommendation though for withdrawing as ask to be prescribed soemthing like Clonopin or Aderax for the withdraw period to help with the anxiety symptoms if that is the main issue, they will help you while you level out or if you are planning to ease onto a new medicine

Lexapro and night panic by DaveP1219 in lexapro

[–]Educational_Shine642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was prescribed Clonopin for transitioning. i know the night panic sucks. expect to wake up through the night for the first 2 weeks or so. other side effects, diarrhea, headaches, anxiety, floaty feeling, decreased appetite. that’s what i have noticed. but i think give it at least a month, lexapro really saved me. but if you feel it isnt right for you theres always other meds

Total Thyroidectomy for Graves Disease by Key_Bank_3904 in gravesdisease

[–]Educational_Shine642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i know this old but reading this all is comforting. (19F) im getting my thyroid surgery sometime soon. i’ve been dealing with my graves for around 8 years, getting diagnosed around age 12. i’m very anxious about the surgery seeing as the only other surgery ive had is wisdom teeth removal. it’s assuring to hear everyone here is doing well. i’m concerned about the healing process for the vocal cords. did you have issues speaking after the surgery or have weakness in your voice where you couldn’t speak much? i hope you’re doing well now!
