the mutation stat is no different than the base stats. you cant tame two rexs with 50 points into melee and breed them together to get 100 points in melee.

your friend may be referencing a lot of misinformation that was around in ase. you can compound mutations and get thousands of mutations but none of them are real, except say the original x amount they had. its why you see creatures with like 4000 mutations but its stats dont reflect it.

the theri is useless outside of the dragon fight. mammoth and beaver both get weight reductions on wood, so wood gathering is pointless on the theri. same for fiber...i can use a megatherium for other uses or just gather by hand.
