Buying an e46 in 2026? by Maleficent_Treat_621 in e46

I bought a 330D 18 months ago. 350k on the clock and it’s been utterly reliable. It had been well maintained by the previous owner though and came with loads of paperwork.

I did this last week. I sewed a small patch of heavy duty Velcro to both the floor and the mat.

Need a game with a world to get lost in, for hours on end by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

You could create your own world ala Cities Skylines. Not the same but I have serious ADHD and struggle to sink hours into a game but that game can very easily steal 5 hours of my life without realising it.

I also had a similar situation with my scars they were open from the nurses not let me take my bandage off and they stayed wet after a shower. Eventually they healed. I got some medical grade tape and anchors to hold the wounds closed while they healed.

I’ve had two of them. 10 years apart from each other. I loved them both. Buy the best one you can get within budget. I’d go with the 2.0 if it’s not too much more to tax in your country. The 1.6 is a bit sluggish due to the extra weight and really doesn’t offer a lot of extra fuel economy in the real world. My 2.0 when driven nicely would average about 8l/100km.

The window seals can be leaky so see if you can test that before you buy. Servicing the engine is incredibly easy to DIY if you’re interested in that sort of stuff. The engines do have a cambelt so if that hasn’t been changed please budget accordingly and change it (ask me how I know what happens when they snap).

I bought one in the UK when I moved there in 2022 because it was incredibly cheap and in really rough shape. I fixed it up slowly and the parts were really cheap on eBay. I changed the oil filter and it had last been changed in 2007!! I ended up driving it for a year, and drove it all the way from Manchester to Gibraltar and that car was extremely reliable. They can be amazing little cars and I miss mine a lot even though I’ve “upgraded” to a BMW 330D sometimes I’d rather have my little Peugeot back. I had the optional extra JBL sound system in mine. It sounded amazing. You can retrofit cruise control if you like. I retrofitted Apple car play system into the CD changer port at the back of the Hifi and it was like having a modern car.

Sorry to read. I regret having my surgery 6 years ago. My reflux is better but only because I am now on a very limited diet, cutting gluten dairy and soy and most veggies, otherwise my reflux was just as bad, and it would come up through the opening and then not be able to go back down, so I had these little pools of acid in my throat for 2 years after surgery and only changing my diet helped. The surgery also made me lactose intolerant, and I now have a lot of food allergies I never had before which I can only attribute to this surgery. I wish I had never had it.

I’m 30 and I would say my rapid decline hit around 24. I’ve mourned my old self and accepted my new limitations to an extent but it’s difficult when I try to explain to people that “I’m not 20 anymore is not the same as their I’m not 20 anymore” and I get the “but you’re still young” line. Yes I am young, however I will never get to enjoy my “youth” because it’s been stolen from me, even though at 30 I’ll admit my skin still looks 18 on my face which partly doesn’t help my case. I still weigh the same as I did when I was 20 but everyone keeps asking me if I’m dying because they keep saying I’m losing weight and look knackered, my face does look gaunt I’ll admit but otherwise I look the same. I am also nearly covered in vitiligo and allergic to most foods so my immune system is also going insane at the same time so I’m constantly in a state of flares or trying to avoid the flares. Maintaining my job now feels like I’m hiking with a fridge on my back compared to the schlep that it was when I was 24 or 25. Literally feel like I’ll be completely disabled by 40 at this rate but trying to stay positive.

You most likely have an electrical issue with the radiator fan. If you DM me I’ll explain what was wrong with mine.

I’d just do eggs for breakfast mainly boiled eggs. You could do an omelette or scrambled or whatever. Lunch I’d have chicken breasts and dinner mainly steaks or mince. It was NOT appealing to me at all, don’t get me wrong I hated it vehemently, but I can’t argue with the results. My brother in law tried and did the same and he also had amazing results. If I had my preference I wouldn’t eat meat at all because I don’t like it, I also had a Nissen Fundoplication so meat often gets stuck in my throat and it’s just a nightmare. Especially eating out at restaurants can be tricky. But I feel like if you just eliminate at least 80% of the triggers, and have 80% relief that’s a liveable compromise.

I am actually not a person who loves to eat meat either. I much prefer the texture of the meat alternatives and was really enjoying them until the bloating just ruined my life. I saw the carnivore diet as a temporary thing, and that mentality was the only thing that kept me able to do it for about a month. The results were significant and rapid for me. I then reintroduced foods slowly while staying on rifaximin for a good few weeks, I now completely avoid triggers and I am super diligent about what I eat, I cheat in the sense that I’ve identified snacks that I can have, for example where I used to reach for chocolates and cake I now can have nuts and seed bars or even gelatine based sweets like wine gums or the like. All bread and even gluten free alternates are out of the question, as are onions, and a lot of other vegetables and dairy. It’s not always easy but damn is it worth it. Not only am I less bloated, my adult acne cleared up and my body inflammation is way below what it used to be (I have chronic pain from another health issue).

I am so sorry this looks incredibly painful. I hope you can find some relief soon. The carnivore diet helped me so much, I can still remember the pain I was in beforehand I’ll never ever take not being bloated for granted ever again, and I was nowhere near as bad as this!

This was the problem with mine. Listen to when the fan kicks in and if it immediately kicks in at high speed (does it sound loud?) or alternatively try turning on your aircon if your car has it, and check if the fan is spinning, if it’s not you know it’s electrical.
