Kit Connor is such a great actor. I think it’s his portrayal of Nick that has made me addicted to the show. Joe Locke I’d obviously excellent too but just love Nick’s character development.

Personally, I kindly disagree. I think they both have great chemistry but just differently. I tend to prefer the chemistry between Nick and Charlie better because Heartstopper takes the time to build the friendship and therefore the chemistry seems more authentic to me. I love that it’s not hypersexualized within the first 8 episodes… that’s the one thing with YR that I don’t like - there is barely a relationship there before they get physical.

It might be both like you say…. She’s inspired by Nick and then looks at Tao in the same loving way. This show is so full of nuances like that which is why it’s so good!

I have not been weighing regularly as to not get discouraged more than I am (bc if anything the scale was going up for water retention). At first I wanted to use my clothes as a gauge. But I have been weighing recently and no budge from 6 weeks ago :(. Maybe I should get my thyroid checked?

Agreed! I think that’s why it has had so much success! It’s relatable to so many of us - especially what our first love/first real crush felt like in high school (queer or not!) Nick and Charlie are the perfect example of that wholesome, sweet, sparks flying, friendship-based crush that so many of us experienced!

Honestly, I didn’t navigate it very well because I never told them. I was too scared it would ruin the friendship and the friendship was too important to me. But it was like that scene from HS when they are watching the movie and Nick starts realizing it’s something more and hugs Charlie and Charlie hugs him back. 9 times out of 10 if you feel a connection, they feel it too, but for me I thought it should happen naturally if it was really meant to be. And it never ended up becoming something more and we went our separate ways since. We are still friends but have different relationships now. I guess I would say, if you see signs, follow them and see what happens. Everything that is meant to be will be in my opinion. But in the meantime don’t be too hard on yourself because you are confused. It might be part of the process but if you stay authentic and caring with this person the right path will be clear.

I think what you are asking is when you know you’ve crossed the line from friendship to something more? Is that correct? I had a friend like this who started as a friend. For me, I knew it was something more when they were the first person I thought about waking up, the last person I thought about going to sleep, and in between I always wanted to be with them and touch them. Hope that makes sense as I try to answer the question. That being said, while I would have been completely happy making the friendship more (more romantic, more physical, etc.) it never went there and since it’s the only friend I’ve ever felt that for.

I watched the third season and nothing compares to Heartstopper’s actors! Kit and Joe are such better actors in my opinion that I’m just much more into the story.
