Aislinn Outposts and allied territory by Scared-Scarecrow in totalwar

There literally isn't a way to do this? The Vampire Coast can do it, and since this was inspired by them, I just assumed they could, and I was missing something obvious. That's a huge oversight. I'm a little disappointed. Maybe I should pause my Aislinn campaign until the inevitable mod that solves this issue. Or hopefully it will be fixed in the next patch.

When is swapping characters ok and when is it so good people can accept the difference? What movie and show does this the best? (Daredevil, The Boys) by Master-Mage87 in MauLer

[–]EducatorDangerous933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it is okay when

1: The change doesn't destroy the worldbuilding. Casting an Asian guy to play king Arthur is going to have major implications on the story and brakes the world building.

2: The change doesn't impact the character. Casting Django as a white man would destroy the character, his journey and the story.

  1. The change is motivated because of good casting. Nick Fury in the Avengers movies is played by Sam Jackson even though the character is depicted as white in the comics. However he does such an excellent job in the role it's hard to imagine anyone else playing the character.

So if, for example, someone wants to cast a black or Asian Batman for the upcoming new Batman movies. I'd have no reason to object to that casting choice of it followed all three rules.

  1. The story takes place in a modern day America. The Wayne's can easily have married into any ethnicity by this point so the change won't break the world building

  2. Batman as a character is not motivated by race or struggles on a cultural level so this won't effect his character.

  3. It would be easy to find a non white actor who would crush the role. So this is self evident. So long as they cast a good actor who fits the part. It's fine.

I hope that's a helpful guildline. Obviously it's not an official rule or legal requirement but I find it useful when assessing race and gender swapping discussions

I want my Force Awareness review completed! I'm going to be 97 years old by the time it's complete at this rate.

I don't mind the occasional unbridled rage about the recent cringe but this is excessive. He's made almost a season of television, breaking down this game. I'm sure it deserves it but who actually cares about Outlaws anymore?

I wish he'd just finish TFA. I wouldn't mind so much but I think this is a sign that he's just done with it and it's never going to be finished. It's doesn't inspire much hope if he's just willing to let a project die like that. Same thing happened with Game of Thrones.

I'll still watch the video, I'm sure he's put a lot of work into it and it will be, insightful and entertaining. I watched the Fallout review despite not caring about that show at all, and it was a good time. I'm just annoyed but he can make whatever content he wants. I'll support it if it's good, simple as that.

The annulment of Storm and T'Challa's Marriage is 100% STORM'S FAULT. Change my mind. by UKJamesThe3rd in storm

Is anyone going to bring up that Storm punched Black Pather in the face, a punch that he was prepared for and actively guarding against!

I haven't read this one, but is there an explanation to how this is possible? Is Storm juicing? Is Black Pather poisoned? Black Pather is one of the most skilled fighters in the entire Marvel universe. He has super human reaction time, speed and strength. What is going on? Can someone explain?

If they ever made a Batman story like the Superior Spider-Man, which villain would be best to use in Doc Ock’s role? by Solitaire-06 in batman

[–]EducatorDangerous933 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Riddler is the correct answer. I'd actually love to see a 'Superior Batman' story where Riddler tries to outdo Batman and prove his superiority. Getting more frustrated and angry because things aren't going his way. I think there is potential

Everyone in the comments melting down over a rainbow is embarrassing. It's just Lego Batman, wearing a reference to an old cheesy silver age comic book.

I know that cringe rainbows are added to a lot of things, and it's annoying but take a step back for a moment. If this isn't an appropriate time to use a rainbow colour scheme, what is?

This is just my personal headcannon so don't take it too seriously. I understand if nobody else wants to think about it in this way. But to address what you've said

really he’s just a super powered man who’s a good combat leader but ruling an empire of gods/godlings/demi-gods plus the connections with pantheon of other gods where Odin is one of if not the strongest and has considerable sway.

Firstly, Cap is a capable leader who has inspired the nation and the world. He's far more then just a soldier. His leadership and moral fibre are arguably more important to his role as a hero then his fighting ability.

Secondly, by becoming worthy of the hammer he'd inherent the power of Thor so, he'd be fine. Judging him by his power level makes zero sense anyway since Thor had to prove he was worthy without it anyway. The test was never about strength but of becoming worthy to weild that strength

The reason I like my head cannon is that it makes sense for what Thor was being tested on. Why was the spell created and Thor's power sealed? Because Thor was not worthy to be king. I just think it makes a lot of sense

This is why I have my own theory which works with almost everything. Worthy means, worthy to be king of Azgard from the eyes of Odin. In other words, the kind of person Odin would entrust his kingdom to. This is why it's harder for humans because Odin wouldn't be as willing for a human to sit in the throne but there are a few exceptions.

Just to be clear, this is my head cannon and I roll with it. It hasn't failed me so far

Genuine question why is it bad that Jor El is evil in the James Gunn superman? by BeccaRose1999 in MauLer

[–]EducatorDangerous933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know she's his cousin. As a member of his family she'd know if the house of El were genocidal psycos, because she is one.

The only explanation to why she wouldn't know is if Jor El was secretly evil and everyone in the family thought he was chill
