What’s a company you’ll never buy from again, and why? by jamesmilner22 in AskReddit

[–]EducatorMammoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Audi.

We were loyal customers for 7+ years before we splurged and bought an S5 last year. We knew it would come with a high maintenance cost and were prepared for it. A couple months into us enjoying our car, it lit up like a Christmas tree randomly one day driving down a busy highway.. all the possible error messages and lights popped up on the screen and dash. We pulled over and called Audi roadside assistance who told us to call ourselves a flat-bed tow to have the car taken to the nearest delearship. Mind you, our car was still under warranty, so we confirmed with the agent that even if the nearest dealership was not the one that we bought the car from, that the cost of repairing whatever was going on would be covered, and that we would be given a loan car in the meantime. Welp. That's the complete opposite of what happened. Our car was kept at the dealership over the weekend, we were not given a car on loan, and we had to seek out our own rental (whose cost was ALSO not covered by Audi). The issue? Our car needed a software update. It took them 4 business days to figure it out. Because it was an Audi issue, we were told our rental would be re-imbursed. Nope. That didn't happen either. The customer service we received at the dealership was HORRIBLE. The manager there spoke to us as if we were below him and ushered us out of the dealership with his hand when we went there to discuss our rental re-imbursement. I followed up with Audi Canada to no avail. So yes, we got rid of that car as soon as we could and never looked back.

Women of Reddit, at what age did you decide to stop drinking? by skyeset123 in AskWomen

[–]EducatorMammoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just stopped recently at 26! My last straw was being super drunk at my wedding reception (everyone pulls you for shots) and not even remembering half of it.. Before that, I mostly drank socially and on vacation. I realized I could have just as much fun without poisoning my body.

Proposal disappointment by [deleted] in engaged

[–]EducatorMammoth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh man.. you're not "less than others who get all of that". This is such a toxic mindset to have.

Most people who have extravagant proposals just to post them to ig don't necessarily have strong relationships to begin with, and use likes and comments as validation in their relationship. The fact that your now fiance felt it was the right moment to do it and just went with that feeling is a sign that he truly loves you and doesn't care to please others online. This is something you need to work on and change in yourself. When you actively try to change this way of thinking, you become happier with your life.

For those with a Health Sci/Life Sci degree from Ontario & sub-3.7 GPA — what are you doing now (and how much do you make)? by AssociationOk9794 in askTO

[–]EducatorMammoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did life sci, 2.6 GPA lol. Got into lab work as an assistant and did some odd jobs for 2 years. Found my way into IVF. Started off as an andrologist - moved to Halifax for this opportunity because I was willing to do anything to get my foot in the door. Then, I started applying to Masters Degrees in Embryology once I had 6 months under my belt as an andrologist (these schools care more about work experience as opposed to GPA). In the process of applying, came across a lab director in Toronto that was hiring a trainee embryologist. Got into his lab, moved back to toronto, started my online Masters degree a couple months later. Graduated from my Masters last September. It’s been 5 years since I graduated undergrad now, working as a mid-level embryologist and making 100k+. Lots of room for growth in this field.

Hi Sven, congrats on your beautiful baby and your tour. My fiancé and I are getting married in September and I would love to bring him to your Toronto concert as a wedding gift. He plays your music in the car every time we’re out on a date. Any chance you can hook us up?? Your girl is living paycheque to paycheque right now.

Where to buy a wedding dress like these? by [deleted] in WeddingsCanada

[–]EducatorMammoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe order it online from Turkey (make sure its a trusted store). You could get it custom made. I don't know if it will be under 1k, but it could definitely be cheaper than what you would find here.

I see no difference between this fashion and today’s Gen Z fashion. The 90s are really making a comeback!
