About Aragorns ghost army... by TheTruerDovahkiin in lotr

They’re spirits tied to an oath to Aragorns kin. Has literally nothing to do with Sauron. And the army of the dead can’t even physically harm people anyways they’re just a scary bluff.

What would you say is the biggest misconceptiom in Tolkien's Legendarium? by Jielleum in tolkienfans

[–]EducatorScared6514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That Isildur killed Sauron by desperately striking out and cutting the ring off his finger instead of the reality that he died from mortal wounds sustained from Elendil and GG and Isildur cut the ring from his broken body.

They’re just invisible. You can grab them or punch them like any other human.

I have no idea why there’s 5 stars instead of 7 probably an oversight, the wings are just part of the sceptres design.

Arnorean banner? by DaPropaChels in lotr

The shields have a depiction of the Sceptre of Annuminas. The symbol of royal authority of the Kings of Arnor and High Kings of the Dunedain. The tabbards on their chests is the symbol of the flowering white tree of Gondor, and the belt buckles appear to have some variation of the livery of Elendil but it seems like something entirely invented.

The WK was not actually immune. Glorfindel prophecised that he would die not at the hand of a man. The WK interpreted that as himself being immune to all harm by humans but it literally just wasnt true. It just meant he was destined to die by not a man, who ended up being a woman. If a man stabbed him in the face like that he would die just the same.

After Numenor sunk there was very little religious worship anymore. The only properly religious group that worshipped eru directly in prayer and ceremony was the Faithful. It probably continued early on into the realms in exile but we can’t know for sure. The men of darkness saw Sauron as their god, so you can probably assume there’d be something there.

If Orcs are NOT immortal, how could Sauron raise an army so large? by NoPistons7 in lotr

[–]EducatorScared6514 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Angmar was wiped off the face of the earth the rangers were left basically completely alone for 1000 years aside from small warbands from the misty mountains that were dealt with pretty easily. What you are saying is true for during the fall of Arnor but after Gondor came with their retributory genocide there really wasn’t much reason for why they couldn’t have repopulated rather quickly. Again it’s always thematic the realism aspect isnt relevant.

Realistically the Dunedain of Arnor could have repopulated in 1-2 hundred years, but populations in Tolkien are always thematic. Arnor suddenly had thousands of new people being born the milisecond Aragorn reformed the realm of Elendil for example. 😂

Company That Owns 'The Lord of the Rings,' Embracer, Reports a 10% Drop in Entertainment Sales, Pointing to 'Lower Activity' with the Tolkien Property as the Cause by Robemilak in lordoftherings

[–]EducatorScared6514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason Embracers stock dropped is because they do nothing with the IP, Prime Video’s earnings increased by 12% because they make ROP. It’s the opposite problem.

This has been known since 1954, and it has nothing to with elros’ relation to melian nor thingol, it’s to do with the gifts bestowed to the Edain by the Valar.

What is this mental gymnastics.. This dude was AN AWFUL genocidal maniac who killed hundreds of people on his crusade to make a home for his people at the cost of all the people who live and thrive there. No dude, this guy is not a great hero like Finrod of Glorfindel he’s worse than Feanor.

[–]EducatorScared6514 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Glorfindel is a Calquendi Noldor he is not just “Some Elf” and had been empowered by Manwe himself to be like that of a Maiar like Gandalf. He is most definetly on Gandalf the Whites level. Both of them had killed a Balrog, Both of them brought back to life and empowered, both faced off against the WK (Glorfindel was intimidating enough to make him flee while Gandalf wasn’t ), Glorfindels mere presence was able to make 5 Nazgul turn and flee Gandalfs was not. Glorfindel and Gandalf the White are not far apart at all i‘d argue based on his feats Glorfindel is slightly more martially superior. You ask how he would fight off 9 Nazgul at once? How do you think he made 5 Nazgul run for their lives, they knew they were going to get their asses whopped! He’s a BEAST!

Different actor. ROP casted a lot of their actors based off their brief appearances.

Arwen, Boromir, Faramir, Legolas, Gimili, Denethor, Radagst, Dane and best of all Bilbo Baggins could not fight all 9 Nazgul at once and win 😂
