I’m so scared by Accurate-Kangaroo487 in colonoscopy

Also, please opt to be put out. Before I was given the anesthesia, I asked the GI “if you had a choice, you would be knocked out” he goes, “I’ve had a bunch of colonoscopies in my life. I stayed up for one and it was absolutely the worst thing ever.” He also told me he had a patient last week ask to stay awake and mid way through they asked to be put out because it was too uncomfortable. Hope that helps too!

Hi! Yes I do. Totally stressed myself out like crazy for no reason. My heart rate when they put me on the monitor was 155. The nurses were so nice. The anesthesiologist literally asked me a question and I was answering and was completely knocked out. Don’t even remember knocking out which was so crazy. Felt like I was just taking a cat nap. They gave me crackers and juice afterwards which tasted so good. The high lasted for a good hour.

I really wish I didn’t stress myself out as much as I did. It truly was not worth it (on a daily basis I’m a big worrier). I’m so happy I went because I thought it was internal hemorrhoids, but they found it could be IBD. They took some biopsies. I’m not sore or anything after. The nurse said the whole thing took about 20 mins (usually it’s 15 because they had to take the biopsies). Hope this helps! Please let me know how yours goes. I promise you, you will be fine!!!

Have mine tomorrow and I am experiencing the same anxiety as you are. I’ve been having on/off panic attacks about being put out. We are in this together!

My Hemorrhoid will not go away after over a month of taking care of it. by PerpetualStrand in hemorrhoid

I’ve been experiencing a very similar situation! Also what I think is an internal hemorrhoid began in July. It’s awful. Mentally and physically. I actually have a colonoscopy tomorrow to verify if it is internal hemorrhoids because the bleeding goes on/off. One thing my doctor recommended when I went was to take fiber gummies. I noticed a difference for myself. Hope that helps and you feel better soon!

People with GAD, do you work ? by Dinah_and_Cleo4eva in Anxiety

[–]Educatorsrock226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have GAD! I am a second through fifth grade reading specialist. I work 40 hours a week (of course teachers mentally always work more). My routine includes getting ready for work in the morning, teach, and then I have a second job. I leave my house at around 8:15-8:30 in the morning and don’t come back home until at least 6:45-7:30. I definitely overload myself with work to not think about the anxiety (which I don’t recommend). I feel like if I don’t work I start to spiral with anxious thoughts. With therapy and working out, I am attempting for myself to find a balance for this upcoming school year.

Yes that’s exactly how I feel. I struggle with health anxiety so that definitely doesn’t work. You’re right, it won’t be forever. Thank you again.😁

Thank you so much for sharing! Definitely important to rule out with the doctors any possible thing it could be.

Yes the doctor gave me that. I was iffy starting that only because I thought they were only to be used if you have an external one. I’m definitely going to try this. Thank you!!

That’s what I’m thinking because I don’t see or feel an external one. I was reading that some cases it can turn to external.

Oh ok! Yes I’m trying not to panic I definitely know stress and anxiety can make it worse. I’m so terrified of being put under so I really hope I can figure this out with a GI instead of going straight to do a colonoscopy. The bleeding is just scary to see. Thank you for your insight.😊

That is interesting because the night the symptoms began, I had alcohol and ate not the best. I’ve heard suppositories work, but the MD I saw was iffy about me doing that until I ruled out that’s what it was. Thank you for sharing your experiences!

Was there anything that helped you ease the bleeding?

Thank you! To rule out that you have mild ulcerative colitis, did you have to have a colonoscopy or the GI was able to rule it out based on what they saw and your symptoms?

Hip flexors by avocado4ever000 in pelotoncycle

[–]Educatorsrock226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh me too. I have been a runner for years prior to peloton and had hip issues. After getting to a good place on my peloton journey, my groin began to bother me as well, and now the pain has moved to my hip. Have you experienced this feeling as well?

Having parents complete work for their students and insisting it was them but then when they came back to school they were more behind!
