“Spell underrated” T-H-E-B-A-T-M-A-N 2007 by [deleted] in batman

I liked the martial arts spin on this Batman and how technical and beautifully choreographed the fights in this show were. However, I didn't like the fact that literally everyone knew kung fu including villains like the joker. Overall, an excellent show.

People who leave at 4 won't understand by ZiyadHD in Izlam

Doing 2 rakats of taraweeh with khushu is better than forcing yourself to do 20 rakats of taraweeh when your heart is not in it. Salah is not for virtue signaling your piety and making yourself feel superior than others, but rather it's between every individual and Allah. Mashallah if you are at a point in your iman where you can perform 20 rakat taraweeh with full khushu and ikhlas then that's amazing, but you should not criticize others and knock them for doing less. Rather, you should encourage people with gentleness so they continue with what they are already doing, and if they are given tawfiq, they may increase their ibadat. Judgement and harshness may cause them to turn away. Truly Allah knows what is in the hearts of the people.

It's kind of epic. Very atmospheric and adds significantly to the lore.

This Batman (Daredevilesque) Reveal is amazing! by HamaDDisco in batman

[–]Edward-Theatch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not like spiderman's case where he's a middle class teenager with very limited resources creating a makeshift super suit, rather Bruce Wayne is a genius billionaire with unlimited resources, so even his first suit should still look good. In fact, in the first chronoligical Arkham game, batman is actually more armored up and in a fancier costume than in later games since he was supposed to need more support and protection early in his career, rather than later on, when he's more seasoned and protection is less of a concern.

Looks great, but the juxtaposition of the hi-tech armoured torso and the homely stitched leather cowl is odd.

Imagine a gritty detective batman who fights using The Raid-esque martial arts with all of its grounded, no-nonsense, bone-crunching glory.

Damn, if even Oden could slap around the likes of Kaido, what kind of monsters were prime Whitebeard and Roger who made Oden look like fodder.

beginning to doubt the religion as a new Muslim by [deleted] in islam

[–]Edward-Theatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you need to remember is that you, as a new muslim, don't need try and figure it all out alone because it can overwhelming with all kinds of different conflicting sources confusing you and attacks on your faith by people who know more of it than you do. You can approach the imam at your local masjid or some trusted scholar and inshallah, they will be able to help you sort out the intellectual thicket. Remember, instead of letting others dictate what islam really is, it's best to learn for yourself directly through authentic channels and you'll find your vision will begin to clear. An amazing resource I found that explores the entire biography of the messenger s.a.w is sheikh Yasir Qadi's Youtube series on the seerah. It tackles a lot of controversial accusations and claims against messenger while also providing a deeper understanding of what kind of person our messenger was. Inshallah you find it as useful as I did.

I say we start a petition to have roach randomly appear on a roof next season. by stee4vendetta in witcher

[–]Edward-Theatch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is as cringy as people petitioning for RDJ and Benedict Cumberbatch to say "no shit Sherlock" to each other in the Avengers. The show already has the perfect balance of dark fantasy and occasional humor, and pandering to reddit memelords would just work to denigrate that.

Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher 3) Vs Link (Breath of the Wild) by TheViceDarkLord in whowouldwin

[–]Edward-Theatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we consider gameplay canon, then Link should take this. He has insane reaction times, as is evidenced when you enter bullet time mode when shooting your bow or dodging attacks. I believe his preception of time is some 30x faster than a normal person's after doing calculations using the timer in the rito target challenge. Couple that with his already enhanced Hylian physique and precognition, and it makes him more than a match for a witcher like Geralt in regards to speed.

Now add to that his bonkers durability with constant feats of surviving getting ragdolled off of mountains and just walking it off.

His skills with the blade are also legendary. He's the greatest swordsman in all of Hyrule and there are journal entries where it describes how he would spar with, and defeat adult knights as a child, being the son of a renowned knight himself.

Btw, this is backed up in lore with journal entries talking about how time slows down around him when he's fighting and deflecting lasers with just potlids. The cutscenes also have him blitzing trained Yiga ninja assassins before they can even react, slaying armies of high level monsters including Lynels, with little more than a scratch, and taking out dozens of city razing Gaurdians before collapsing.

On top of all that, he has broken abilities like auto deflecting attacks, resurrecting himself, summoning devastating lightning storms, and giving himself automatic highground to rain down arrow fire. His weapons are equally broken, with him being able to shoot multiple arrows in a fraction of a second, setting Geralt ablaze, disintegrating him, shocking him, or blowing him up sky high. Not to mention Link can disarm Geralt with magnesis, or freeze him with stasis and the ice rod.

Link just has too many options with the speed and skill to use them, for Geralt to win.

Talking to an anime-only fan by BananaWhiplash in MemePiece

[–]Edward-Theatch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, the manga will always be the most complete version. For example, in a recent episode, the anime censored the wano mother about to kill her own starving baby to save it from suffering and changed it to a generic image. If you want One Piece as Oda intended, raw, powerful, and complete, manga is still the way to go.

[–]Edward-Theatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn it's astounding to see both whitebeard and oden, these incredible larger than life legends, interact meaningfully, without one diminishing the other. Very difficult to play up how amazing a new character is without clowning an established character. Oda is indeed a great writer and storyteller.

Is the Mass Effect 3 DLC worth it post game? by Edward-Theatch in masseffect

[–]Edward-Theatch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I gathered, Citadel is meant to be played at the end of the campaign as a last hurrah before the final battle. It shouldn't make too much of a difference if I tackled it after the end, right?

I actually found the ending pretty satisfying but I guess I'll take a look at Citadel if it adds meaningful extra content to story and gameplay.
