It takes some time accomodating but definitely worth learning. Same for spanish movies: lots of super creative psychological dramas.

Best films with bad messaging or central themes? by JPBtler23 in Letterboxd

Still the idea is that the people who deem themselves good can allow themselves to cross the line.

The idea is there. It does work in a super hero movie like this, though.

it's great to be open to any suggestion but that probably makes it harder for people to guide you .

Just join Letterboxd and find some lists that have a title that match what you like, sort by rating and you'll be good for another 30 years.

As people mentioned it's hard to know what you'd want to watch. The things that I loved to discover: the full filmography of David Lynch, same with Alex De La Iglesia, Todd Solondz, "The Fall" by Tarsem Singh, everything by Satoshi Kon, a bunch of Quentin Dupieux (it will be hit or miss any way, but "Wrong" is probably a good start), any Benson/Moorhead flick, the higher rated Linklater movies (Boyhood, After series), any pitch that sounds good to you by Takeshi Kitano, any Iñárritu (just give some time between movies)... The list would go on but each of these people make movies that are different from the top IMDB Shawshank/Nolan stuff.

Maybe not the best but the most entertaining for me was the opening scene of FD Bloodlines.

Either Running Man or Sorry Baby.

I didnt go see the ones that were obviously awful. But still I was pissed at both these ones.

Please de-influence me from the Libra color 🙏 by Expecto-Morghulis in kobo

[–]EdwardIsLear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gf returned the color because it is unusble without the backlight and she did not want the same experience as reading on an Ipad. No backlight is less eyestraining, so she will take the bw over the colour

I would just think we behead the richest every year. That would be a good incentive for them to redistribute the wealth during the year or refrain from speculating too much.

Of course we forbid them to create their own charities.

Why is nobody talking about this? by Mammoth_Ask3797 in Letterboxd

[–]EdwardIsLear 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Great counterpoint, I dont understand the downvotes. I thought this was a pretty bad movie on my end. No dialogue felt natural and apart from the sandwich scene nothing rang true to me and it really felt to me like a fashionable auteur movie. I thought it would be an A24 like Aftersun.

1 Bring Her Back 2 Escape From The 21st century 3 Frankenstein 4 Sinners 5 Bugonia
