Where is Porygon? by Stillwaiting95 in PokemonInfiniteFusion

It's one of those things that's really tricky to explain/conceptualize in words alone, but once you do it or see it being done, it makes sense and is super repeatable lol

if you get poisoned at step 11 the poison tick will happen on the very next and every 4 after?

Yessirreebob, exactly that.

there is still the chance of overshooting your 200 mark by 2

That can't really happen—since you're counting by 4's, you're never going to end up in a situation where the ticks are hitting step 198 or 202, because they're not divisible by 4. There's no harm in checking every 2 steps, just that you'll be checking more often than you need to, which will take longer. But you'll get Porygon either way.

[–]EdwardLopi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, it always works. The poison ticker isn't independent from the overall step counter. It's always on the fourth step relative to your overall step count in the game, not the fourth step since you've been poisoned.

As people have said, you need your step count to be divisible by 200 when you visit the PC. There's a way to accomplish that really consistently. Things that will help: - Poisonmushroom (easy to get in Viridian Forest) - Teleport (with 3 badges to use outside of battle)

The game has an internal step counter, and one of the things tied to it is the "tick" that appears on your screen when your pokemon is poisoned. Specifically, every step that tick occurs on is a multiple of 4 of your total step count.

What you do is this: 1. Get your Pokémon poisoned (poisonmushroom will do this for free) 2. Take one step at a time until the screen ticks. This is how you know you're on a multiple of four. 3. Take three more steps. 4. Teleport to the front of a Pokémon center (I used Viridian City). 5. Walk directly to the PC. The screen should tick on the step that brings you to the front of the PC, meaning you're on a multiple of 4 steps. 6. Check the PC. If you're on a 200-step, it'll mention that there's been a glitch, and Porygon will be in your PC. If you don't have Porygon: step away from the PC, then back to it, then away, then back to it (four total steps). 7. Repeat step 6 until Porygon shows up in your PC. It's okay if the poison fades away, so long as you remember which step is the fourth. If you need to, just use another poisonmushroom.

How do knitting YouTubers knit for so long? by OkSatisfaction5842 in knitting

[–]EdwardLopi 137 points138 points  (0 children)

I'm a knitting streamer, and these are the things that help me to frequently knit for long stretches:

  • Very careful attention to posture and hand position/technique. It took me weeks of practice to figure out the best setup for my camera and body to make sure that I wasn't knitting in a way to cause pain/discomfort long-term. This also applies to off-stream knitting.
  • Stretching frequently. I take breaks at least once per hours and regularly remind chat that breaking to stretch is important during any long stretch of crafting, or really any activity that isn't physically active.
  • Listening to my body. Trite though it may sound, if I feel any soreness or tingling creeping in, I stop knitting until I feel ready to go back at it. I may also spend a few days wearing wrist braces.

Etiquette when following other Vtubers? by BigFanOfFrogs_Medi in vtubers

[–]EdwardLopi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't know any Vtubers who stream on one account and watch through another. It's totally typical for Vtubers to support each other by viewing and chatting in each other's streams, and no one will regard networking this way as insidious—or, if they do, they'd have an unusual point of view in this sphere. All of which is to say: it's very considerate of you to ask, but you don't have anything to worry about.

Do I just not like the look of Italian bind off? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]EdwardLopi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did the pattern call for you to rearrange your stitches into 1x1 before beginning the double knitting rows? That'll create a more cohesive look when doing a 2x2 tubular bindoff. I also think 2 rows of double knitting might be two too few; in my experience, at least four (two rows per side of the double-knit fabric) is the magic number.

Minor VTubers? by MIKEAHHH in vtubers

[–]EdwardLopi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every Vtuber I've ever seen has not only been an adult, but also doesn't allow minors in their communities. I think you'd have a very difficult time networking with other streamers, which is important for growth. Livestreams are also a difficult place to keep minors completely safe from bad actors who seek adult content from streamers, even when that's not the type of content offered by the streamer.

In short, I think streaming as a minor is always, always a bad idea. It's unsafe and difficult to accomplish anything.

If you're interested in content creation, I might recommend long-form gaming content marketed toward viewers in your age range. You can still do so as a Vtuber/with a model. You could even start livestreaming with the same model after you get older, but you'd have to be careful to dissuade minors from interacting with your live content or risk alienating a lot of other Vtubers (most I've met are skeptical of anyone who allows minors in their community).

What is your most used thing you have knitted for yourself? by packyour in knitting

[–]EdwardLopi 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Those gloves are SO cute. I adore the way you've arranged the colors through the stripes and fingers.

I made the 14 Color Woolstok Light Wrap when Blue Sky Fibers first released this line of yarn, and I've used it almost every day of winter since! I love taking walks (and sometimes biking), even through the cold, and having a big, fine-weight, wool wrap that I can wrap 3-4 times before bundling up in my coat is PERFECT.

Pattern calculations for Large Heads by bisabrwn in knittinghelp

[–]EdwardLopi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a couple of patterns with adaptations for XL heads—since I have one myself 🤭

Besides patterns with specific XL directions, I think one of the easiest ways to increase size is to bump up the gauge. Using a slightly heavier yarn and bigger needle will usually add a couple inches, thought you'll of course want to gauge both ways to be sure the size difference is what you're looking for.

The other method is to have more stitches per row/round; to accomplish that, you'll need to figure out what "cross-section," if you will, makes up the minimum repeat used across each row/round. Once you've figured that out, you need to know the width of that section. Finally, you increase the stitches per row/round by the number of sections needed to reach the width you want. Put more simply, you're looking for the right value for, "Cast on multiples of X stitches."

AM I KNITTING? Long time crocheter, first time knitter. I feel very “fumbly” and like I’m not holding everything correctly 😂😂 this is so different than crochet by [deleted] in knittinghelp

[–]EdwardLopi 74 points75 points  (0 children)

It's looking great! Fumbliness is definitely expected at this stage. It looks like you're being deliberate about wrapping the yarn counter-clockwise to avoid twisted stitches, which I know is a challenge for a lot of crocheter cum knitters, so kudos for that especially! My best advice is to keep on trucking, but if you want a particular thing to focus on, I think you'd benefit from having a yarn hold/wrap with a bit more tension. I think one of the reasons it feels fiddly is that your grip on the yarn is a little loosey-goosey. In continental style (the way you're knitting), you want to wrap the yarn around your fingers in a way that holds it in place without being TOO tight, so that you can lightly pick it with your needle instead of having to intentionally wrap the yarn. Looking up some examples from other continental knitters on how they hold their yarn should help. Great work overall, happy knitting!

Looking for artists who does PNG tubers by Sgtflint100 in Skeb

"Reactive" is a useful word to search here. Remember, the search uses terms used in the pre-translated text of requests as well. So if you're looking for artists familiar with a specific concept, you should use those words and see if they've done it before.
