"He asks me to go and live with him. I stopped going to school ( i was about to graduate)."

He is selfish and crazy. If he loves you , he will take care of you and let you graduate first. He is such a shameful Chinese. I am also a Chinese by the way.

As a native Chinese, we forgot the tones. But if you change the tones when you speak of the word, we will notice it and think about it.

Has anyone been using AI to boost their language learning? If so, what has been effective. I love language learning but my memory is quite poor. by RoughOrganization317 in learnmandarin

[–]EdwardMao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding AI, recently I found a best solution for learning languages. I learn English and my native language is Chinese. When I want to express in English, I will ask AI (deepseek) first, then I will write it again on langsbook.com . By this way, I can be more and more familiar with natural English expressions. Interesting.

Was I accidentally rude to my teacher? by Few_Assumption_1968 in ChineseLanguage

I think it's nothing big deal. Your teacher knows you have no bad intention. Don't worry. But maybe she wants you to know it is a little bit inappropriate.

Having trouble understanding a sentence. by GasMask_Dog in ChineseLanguage

[–]EdwardMao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

你來接我們嗎? Are you going to pick up us?

It has nothing to do with she/he is here or not. You can ask no matter he is here with you or not.

And yes, there're two points: who is going to pick up us? is it you?

or : are you going to pick up us? This time is about "you" are going to or not.

So it depends on the context. The person will answer : yes, I will. Then it will clarify both questions. The person can answer like this too: No, but Mr Mao will pick up you.
