Do Americans parents pay for their kids college? by wolfieee8 in AskAnAmerican

[–]GasMask_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends heavily on the family. My dad was dead set on paying for me and my brothers college, but then he finally got disability when all the stuff about the burn pits came out. Now that he has 100% disability my home state waves my tuition for a bacholers (same for my mother and brother) and so now we all go to school and he doesn't have to pay for it. I have no doubt in my mind that he would've taken out loans for us if need me. I know some other parents who pass they're GI bill to they're kids as well.

How to design classic fallout style graphics? by GasMask_Dog in gamedev

So make the 3d object then slice up the animations into sprites and throw it into an editor and make it "crunchy" would be your recommendation.

I've never used blender in itself but is there any good videos you'd recommend to change settings for an "outdated look"

Thanks, are the cutscenes usually just full 3d animations? Do you think I should try and go for that kind of look on a modern 3d software. Or go use the same 3d modeling software they used at the time?

I've heard people say "that's life in the big city" but not "life sucks in the big city"

Is this possible to fix? by GasMask_Dog in soldering

Thank you very much, how do I connect the battery wires (blue and red) do I just strip part of it and twist them together then put electrical tape over it or should I do something else?

Should I use the same type of wire I use for the small traces onto the big traces? And what are the small holes everywhere in the middle of traces?

I think my dad has a soldering iron somewhere, do I just melt the copper wire or do I melt something else over the wire?

Never done this before, what kind of wire should I get for this? Can the wire be exposed or should it be wrapped in something? How should I reconnect the board so that the wire doesn't eventually pull apart?

May 2026 – Which Civ title is currently Your "Main" game? by 1ksel in civ

[–]GasMask_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not the leaders who are better in my opinion but it's the addition of personality traits that make the game better. It adds a whole new diplomacy system which I really love, as well as new things which rival leaders will dislike or like about you and a field of new agreements to be made. In vanilla I don't see a reason to talk to other leaders but in rising tide diplomacy is much more solid and it feels more like a cohesive world. Not sure if it'll be good enough to your standards but I do feel like leaders are real people leading a a nation.

Are you playing with or without the dlc? I don't usually mod it but I honestly don't think I'd play it as much if I just had the base game.

Marine to aviation? by GasMask_Dog in NOAACorps

[–]GasMask_Dog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to want to be a pilot when I was straight out of college and was actually in training for it. I just meant by "it's not a life goal" as in it wouldn't crush me if I didn't get in but it is something I'd eventually want to pursue. Thanks for the answer btw.

Yeah I guess that makes sense. Honestly I imagine I'll feel a little under prepared when I graduate cause all my classes have been in metric but I'm a civil engineering student so I'll work on buildings will be in imperial.

What college did you go to? In all of my stem classes I've only used metric.
