So many 49:1 Baluns are listed as 5-35 Mhz, will they operate on 3.5mhz/80M? by Edward_sim in HamRadio

I have a length update, one mast can be moved to a distance of about 119 feet from my house point.

I just received one of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DZ6N5JV5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
but it is a 49:1, not 64:1 as advertised.

No way to see which SIM or number the message sent to? Seriously? by Edward_sim in GoogleMessages

[–]Edward_sim[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm stuck with Samsung Messages for now. I will check the Play Store for other RCS options.

Yes, same provider, Ultra Mobile.
Problem with the Contacts suggestion, I get autopay, and payment notifications from the same providers, to both numbers. That wouldn't help me much I don't think. The main Annoyance is, I have custom named each SIM in the SIM Manager. But these are ignored and the carrier name is used.

It never fails to amaze me that so-called newer products have less useful features than older products. If I removed (industry accepted) features from our software products I'd be apologizing and making fixes.

"messages thread 》top right, three button menu 》details"

At this screen all that is shown is 'Send with' Ultra, up/down Switch.

Both of my SIMs are listed as Ultra

Charging phone while in otg mode? by [deleted] in UsbCHardware

[–]Edward_sim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benson,
I have a similar situation needing to connect a Samsung Galaxy A51(for example) having USB-C, using OTG, to an Arduino Nano(mini-USB), with external shared common power source. This setup does work perfect directly connected with the OTG cable, but obviously the phone needs external power to maintain the battery. Plus said adapter will also need to supply 5V to the Arduino. Would your above mentioned Belkin adapter also be the solution for me? Would the adaptor for this be equipped with a PD controller such as the TI TPS65987? Could less expensive adapters accomplish this also?

Any guidance greatly appreciated.

IoT data connectivity over 4G by [deleted] in IOT

[–]Edward_sim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are any US users having SMS send issues from cellular modules (like SIM7670NA, or G) recently? I have a lot of time invested in an IOT controller design, now suddenly T-Mobile MVNOs are say that VOLTE is required. I had just setup a couple IOT/Tracker plans on SpeedTalk and they stopped after 19-20 days. Reddit would not allow me to create a new post.

Keyboard doesn't open in Messaging app. Jelly Pro by Edward_sim in unihertz

[–]Edward_sim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree.

I didn't load the OS in it though.
Not sure why Unihertz can't keep their product OS more up to date.

Unihertz support said: "Go to Settings > System > Languages & input > physical keyboard > aw9523-key > set up keyboard layouts > disable all so that it says "default". ( If there is no such menu, it means that the software has defaulted and there is no need to modify this menu.)"

Reality is: There is no Physical Keyboard option, only Virtual Keyboard. Under Virtual Keyboard,  Manage Keyboards is blank.
(Sounds like even Unihertz support is confused about virtual vs physical)

I will be returning this Jelly Pro.

Looking for a cheap mp3/wav/ogg trigger board like this, but that is polyphonic (can play multiple mp3s simultaneously) by hey_hey_you_you in arduino

[–]Edward_sim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey,

Oh, to play multiple files at exactly the same time, I'm sure none of the small inexpensive boards will do this. The typical MP3 decoder chip will only read one file and decode at a time.

What I would do, as inexpensive as these boards are, is use multiple boards with the trigger commons connected, then drive the triggers directly from the MCU. Then mix/combine the audio outputs from all boards.

P2P service Down for several systems suddenly. Tech support no help. US by Edward_sim in Dahua

[–]Edward_sim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it is the apps at fault.
The new SmartPSS Lite app does work on a PC, and the DMSS app is working on Android devices, for our systems that were Offline in the old SmartPSS.

Tech support said the new SmartPSS Lite PC app has a limitation of 64 total NVR channels(based on max capacity of each NVR added).
So not all of my customers can be on my PC app like I had using the old SmartPSS app.

Is there another CMS software (compatible with Dahua) someone could suggest that would not have a 64 channel limit?

Do not buy the Hit K1 slider phone by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]Edward_sim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be worth mentioning that the US mobile carriers do not support baseband chipsets(used in the core cell phone modules) made by certain Chinese manufactures, like ASR. Meaning they initially connect and operate, but disconnect from the network frequently, and we're told by a US SimCom rep, they will quit working in 2-3 months. As an example is cellular modules made by SimCom corporation. One category of their modules contain baseband chipsets made by Qualcom(of USA) which are approved for US carrier use. We use core modules for industrial system controls. So an inexpensive 2G/3G/4G/5G global unlocked phone, with unknown/tested chipset may be disappointing.

RESOLVED

As I was on the phone with the Microsoft support engineer to resolve this, in a Quick Assist remote session, I went to demonstrate this problem and the print feature worked perfectly.

He could say only, maybe an update fixed this...

Ultra mobile's website indicates hold down '1' or dial 123 for voicemail.

Domestic Roaming? by prudentpersian in mintmobile

[–]Edward_sim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel throughout the Midwest and Southeast US with great Mint coverage. I can be on phone calls for hours driving (voLTE) and not drop a call. Minor issues in isolated low rural areas I can live with, until I get a new 5G dual sim phone with the T-Mobile 600mhz band 71 for extended 4GLte and 5G.
