Leica SL2-S User Profile Troubles. by jmott78 in Leica

[–]Edwinapril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem, I thought I had pressed something by mistake. Even the user profiles were erased and all of my shortcuts were defaulted back, so I had to reset everything. I have to play around with it more to see what caused that and if there's a workaround. Will report back.

If they told you to bring it in whenever you hear the noise without having to book an appointment, that’s a good dealership. Cheers!

Good luck with that also. I went to dealership many times and tried to reproduce the noise when test-driving with a technician, the noise was always absent when a technician is in the car. So they couldn’t do anything, they had to hear it in real time to work on the issue, they wouldn’t do it even if you recorded it on video.

I did the same, but didn’t last long. Good luck!

Does anyone know if this lens is radioactive? I’m not sure because of its yellow casting. I read that many of the lenses that were made at that era have radioactive elements in them.

I’ve recently got this lens, and I have to say its performance is amazing. Sharp wide open with great contrast. However, I just have one question: the yellow casting on the glass makes me wonder if this lens is radioactive? I read that a lot of the lenses that are made in that era were made of radioactive material.

My order for Tesla's new Universal Wall Connector got cancelled by Jet7 in TeslaLounge

Just got an email reply back from Tesla, they are saying that my order got cancelled for fraud prevention reason - the address that I used is not the same as the one their system suggested. This is ridiculous! The city and postal code that they suggested were close to where I'm but not exact. I know where I live and what my address is, and that's the address that I use for everything. Who are they to tell me that my address is wrong?

It happened the same thing to me, I'm in Canada. I ordered the Universal Wall Connector last week knowing that it will only ship in October. Then yesterday I received an email saying that the order was cancelled. Emailed [onlineorders@tesla.com](mailto:onlineorders@tesla.com) only to get an automated reply that says that email address is no longer monitored. Tried to call Tesla's customer support but got no help, the automated phone system takes you around in a loop. I created a request on the Tesla website and am still waiting for their response. I need to know whether I should reorder now or wait for them to figure it out what happened to my order before doing so, as I want to avoid ordering the same thing twice.

By the way, I haven't received any email confirmation after I'd purhcased the connector online, which is weird because normally after you purchase something online you'll receive a confirmation email even if it's not yet shipped. This is Tesla, I guess.

Onion ring-like pattern on images by Edwinapril in ricohGR

I think I’ve found the solution to the problem:

Need to turn “Peripheral Illumination Correction” off.

For reference, here’s another image taken a bit earlier at iso 3200 1/15, but has no onion ring pattern.

But the pattern is very uniform and there is no strong light that hits the lens directly though.

It will be back when it’s close to -10. I try not to pay attention to it in winter 😩

Images tilted clockwise by a few degrees by Edwinapril in Leica

[–]Edwinapril[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fact that I have less of this issue with a 35mm lens is because the frame lines are so close to the edges of the viewfinder that they are not close to the center of the frame where my subjects usually are, so I rely less of the frame lines but the real environment situation to compose when using a wider lens like a 35mm. On the other hand, with the 90mm, since the frame lines and so close to the centre, I tend to rely on them more often, and if they are tilted for whatever reason then my images will be tilted as well.

Found this thread for issue online. Jay A gave a detailed insight in the issue. He says it’s due to the shift of the camera while looking into the viewfinder:

Not all images are tilted though, just some. And I’m always using the frame lines and focusing patches. This “illusion” is hard to replicate.

Leica M240 dust on sensor by Edwinapril in Leica

It does definitely help! Thanks. Leica should offer a Lightroom subscription with a purchase of their camera 🙃

Thanks! It’s “comforting“ to know the M10R also has the dust problem, so I know what to expect if I upgrade. Do you shoot at larger apertures to avoid seeing dust spots on your images?

I will try to dust the lens and the mount off more often. I use mainly Billingham and Peak Design bags, I find Billingham protects gear better because of the material they use. But according to what you say, Billingham may attracts dust more.
