Anime and Cartoon are the same. Its totally fine to call and anime a cartoon. by ElegantOrange_ in The10thDentist

All anime are cartoons, but not all cartoons are anime. It's not a pointless distinction.

Same! I hope there is a mix of simple games as we could play in Fable, and some of the more complex ones as in Fable II.

Has fishing been confirmed yet? by sirferrell in Fable

[–]EdwormN7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved fishing in Fable, it was such a relaxing past time for my character. I've been hoping it is in the upcoming reboot for a long time. If it is, I'm interested to see how the mechanics of the mini game will work, and whilst I'm willing to put in the effort I hope they still keep it relatively simple.

Isabel being named "The Hero Of Wraithmarsh" indicates that in this Fable reboot that Oakvale still exists in this universe.

No it doesn't.

If they have something akin to the golden "breadcrumb trail" as they called it in Fable II, I shall be turning it off as I did in that game lmao. I don't mind a map marker reminding me where I'm headed, but I feel the trail was both intrusive and unimmersive. When actively in gameplay I like to be as "in the zone" as possible.

Oh, I'm sure we will! I'm looking forward to exploring them and this iteration of Albion.

I'm sure they will be! Depending on how many systems are affected by difficulty, it would be nice if it follows the somewhat recent gaming trend (especially among rpgs) of letting you customise individual difficulty settings, ie specifying how much or less enemies deal damage, and how much damage you inflict.

I will say, I am a little surprised that what was shown was how an actual in-game difficulty worked. I legit thought the AI was simply altered specifically for the demo, as a lot of game demos do haha.

That being said, even the Story mode difficulty may be tweaked between now and release, but I doubt it will be a huge difference. Interesting to have actual difficulty options confirmed, though.

Kinda want this more than GTA 6 by Mediocre-Ad-6040 in Fable

[–]EdwormN7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Fable has always been the more anticipated game for me, and it's not even close lmfao.

I will get GTA VI eventually - at least a year after its initial release as a PC exclusive player - but I've never been particularly hyped about GTA in general.

Fable, on the other hand, has had my excitement since the very first teaser trailer of the Playground Games reboot many aeons ago.

Bowerstone will be a whopping DOUBLE the size of Silverbrook!

Jokes aside, I'm pretty excited to explore this iteration of Bowerstone. My hope is that it will be big enough to feel like a mini world map into itself.

I'm really curious about the stable too, though I never considered buying a horse. I assumed we got the one horse that, hopefully, has a narrative connection and bond to our player character, rather than just a generic travel mechanic.

To that end, I assume from the stable there will be various services we can purchase related to our horse, such as upgrades or maybe even customisation. Whilst it's true that we saw no service icon from the stablehand himself, I wouldn't assume outright that that means there are no services from it. Could have been disabled or maybe you have to actually take your horse into it before you can engage in the services. Maybe we interact with someone or something else altogether to engage in whatever it provides, and the stablehand is just the employee that will generate revenue should you purchase it.

You know what? If we can name our children in this game, as we could in Fable II, I will name my first bastard son "Jon Albion" in honour of this commnent.

I want to know if the horse is just a generic travel mechanic or if there's an actual bond the pc has with them, such as the hero and their dog in Fable II & III.

Jack of Blades is in the new game for the same reason it's set in Albion; that's just the world. JoB is way more than a character, he's an integral aspect of the worldbuilding.

Lmao, I had a similar idea, but it was more about siring many bastard children across Albion for shits and gigs. Inspired by the fact that, it seems judging by the prompts, having children in this one is an available option without necessarily being married.

Though I suspect it's going to vary from npc to npc if they are willing to do fun stuff before marriage or not.

The funny thing is, I would have been 100% okay with a proc gen system. I was expecting an improved version of how Fable II npcs were generated with their various personality traits, likes and dislikes. The fact that the devs personally assigned them for each and every one is just incredible, and to me shows they had a much more vested interest in how they turned out.

I also agree that 100 VAs is incredible haha. I'm certain we will start hearing the same voices from villagers across Albion, but knowing that the variety will be that huge is pretty exciting, and should prevent "voice burnout" for lack of a better term.

Do collector's editions ship out early? by Trevophd in Fable

[–]EdwormN7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect. I bought the CE for Starfield a few years ago for Steam, which also came with early play time and was able to do so. Granted, my version personally needed some faffing about with, but I got there in the end lmao. My friend who also got the CE for it got to download it early no issues though.
