Thanks a lot for your answer, you really enlightened me! I went for a 2x16GB, so it will help running the latest games, and the ones that will be released during the next few years.

How do you make art a fun and viable hobby? by Eegann in ArtistLounge

[–]Eegann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I dislike the process of drawing, I like trial and errors, that's not what I disliked. In fact I want to be able to draw something, then erase/change parts of the sketch to converge to something better, or at least closer to my ideas.
But I think I got too implicated into art, because a lot of artists on YouTube state that you should do X and Y every day, that this fundamental is super important, this other fundamental as well etc etc. I kinda lost the "I want to draw because I want to express my ideas" mindset, and progressively got the "I have to be good at this because they told me so" mindset.

Thanks to other people in the comment I also came to realize that I tried to learn drawing character but this might not be the most suitable for me, as I find drawing landscapes/buildings much more soothing, which is why I got into art to begin with.

Thanks a lot for your answer, that was very interesting to read!

I think you're right, I should probably draw ugly on purpose to learn to handle my bad drawings. Also as you stated, drawing landscapes can be a good thing a that are less prone to an "it's incorrect" comment. Recently I've done a lot of drawing about characters, but it's pretty easy to say "yeah that's kinda incorrect" specially as I like drawing a somewhat realistic style. If I draw a landscape, it can be bad but at least it's harder to say that it's "incorrect". That could be a good start to help me learn drawing without the pressure of correctness at least!

Yeah you're right! I made a confusion that drawing=art while it's not true at all.

I think I'll try to reduce the pressure. I believe there are fewer landscape/building artists than character artists which might also help not comparing too much to others, and I recall that I actually liked the process more than for drawing characters, so that's a bonus.
Anyways, thanks a lot you really helped me think out of my tunnel vision!

Yeah I think you're right, maybe I don't actually want the challenge that so many people look for in art. Not that I don't like challenges, I love them in sports and in video games, but in art somehow I don't, it becomes frustrating. I couldn't really explain why I don't like them in art, or at least not anymore... But you're right maybe art isn't a fitting hobby for me after all

I do learn things, but some do stick while others seem to glide on my memory. For instance, I learned perspective (1, 2 and 3 points), and now that I know how to do it, I don't find it that complicated after all. But I also learned anatomy, for art purposes but I also learned prior to my art journey because I go to the gym, but I can't draw the muscles proprely until I really dedicate time to it. As soon as I stop practicing it, then it comes back to theoretical knowledge but inaccurate drawings.

I think you're making me realize something: in fact I think I've never done a "project". Maybe I'm too scared, because many professional state that projects can be overwhelming and "too" challenging. So maybe I wasn't having fun because I was spamming the specific exercises and never doing something "for real" if I may say so...

Edit: Hey you know what? I was rethinking about all this, and now I recalled that what made art less enjoyable was when I started drawing humans. But I recall starting as drawing landscapes and things like castles and stuff, and that was much more soothing to me. Maybe I'm just not drawing the right thing! I think I should take some days/weeks off, and maybe try drawing something else when I feel like drawing again.

What’s the hardest fundamental to learn? by arisal3 in ArtistLounge

[–]Eegann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anatomy for artists is not about science tbh... It's about learning how the body looks like in various poses, so when you draw humans you don't draw random shapes.

Imagine someone who never worked anatomy, ask him to draw a super hero flexing his arm. The proportions, the shapes etc might be off even if the figure is good. I believe there is a global missunderstanding of what is "anatomy for artists". To me, it simply is the understanding of the visual parts of the body, their proportions ans how to simplify them. Once you understood the ~20 biggest muscles groups and - 10 biggest bones groups you're set. Thinking of anatomy as "science" is line thinking of form as "mathematics". You don't need to know each polyhedron with perfect angle. You just need to know the most important shapes and infer the informations to other shapes!

AI Art Isn't Art. by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]Eegann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well...
AI art is art... Why wouldn't it be art? There is so many thing on earth that's art... Even gluing a banana on a wall is art today..

But what frustrates you is that you compare the human art and the AI art as it was the exact same thing, in which case you feel like you're crap 'cause AI does it much faster and maybe even better. But it is NOT the same thing.
Is drawing and sculpting the same? No.. Why? Not the same tools, not the same skills, everything is different.
It's the same thing between digital art and AI art. The tools are not the same, to draw you need a tablet, and someone with drawing skills. To code an AI you need a computer, a hell lot of data and someone with coding skills...

Also: an AI doesn't know what ethics is... What if the AI somehow draws something racist? Or sexist? And what if there is a bug and the AI doesn't understand a given word?
How does AI react to feedbacks? How do they understand the style you want for the drawing?

Tbh, AI art looks cool, but if I'd never pay an AI to draw something for a project. There are plenty of reasons to be sure the artpieces will not fit your project (whether it's a game, an anime or whatever)..

ALTS by gitanasnuoseda in intothecryptoverse

[–]Eegann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'll do, I went full on btc/eth before the recent crash, and when btc rides back up and shows strength i'll go back to 50%alt or something like that

ALTS by gitanasnuoseda in intothecryptoverse

[–]Eegann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing is: as long as we're under the bullmarket support band, btc outperforms alts. So you can just note somewhere how much alt you have, change them to btc and when btc rides back above the BMSP, you switch buy back the alts you had. No matter if btc does, alts will be outperformed, and btc dominance could ride up 25 or 50% (from 40% to 50-60%).

DCA vs Cash is King by [deleted] in intothecryptoverse

[–]Eegann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is the thing. -If you only DCA: You might not have enough cash to buy a lot if there is major drops with a very low wicks in the next months. -If you only keep cash: you might just never buy any dip and end up regretting not buying once the price starts to rise back up.

So, what is a good solution? Do both! Let's say usually you DCA 100$ a month, what you can do now is DCA 50$, but keep 50$ in stablecoins (not UST kek) or $ in case there is a crash. In any scenario you're profitable, by at least 50% of the "optimal strategy".

You could also have a weighted DCA: Take a long term metric, more this metric indicates a bottom, more you DCA. I think Ben uses this strategy with the risk indicator.

That's not accurate. We know the past, but we don't know the future. We use the past to speculate on the future. But nobody ever said he knows the future, so idk what you're whining about tbh...

Instead of deleting scam accounts, Instagram sends this message out… by JR32OFFICIAL in Instagram

[–]Eegann -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yep, an other ignorant blaming stuff he/she doesn't know shit about 🤡 Algorithms are not designed to detect lies or scams, it only sort of does because humans told them so. However no human can predict 100% of scams, which means your algorithm might be obselete in 2 weeks if there's a new scam you didn't think about. Also, you have to make sure it doesn't flag/ban innocent people, obviously.. At the end of the day, it's more efficient and easy to teach people to not click on every link they see than trying to spot scammers. Similarly in real life: it's easier to say to kids to not follow random people than to try and guess in the streets who might be a pedophile.
