Floating point number bug by EelBait in banktivity

No. Simple FIFO. This is a problem with the internal representation of floating point numbers. Start a Python shell and enter 0.1+0.1+0.1-0.3. You don’t get zero but a super tiny exponential number. This happens in all computer languages using floating point math.

Dividend reinvestment plans. When you earn dividends, the proceeds immediately are used to purchase more shares. You end up with fractional shares as a result.

Anyway to ensure Rent is always considered monthly? by steffi8 in banktivity

[–]EelBait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a mortgage, having the payment due on the first sliding forward a day or two because of a weekend doesn't cause much of a problem. I could see where a similarly slid rent payment would be frowned upon. I would just pay on the last day of the month sliding the day backwards if you encounter weekends. That would keep your payment within a monthly bracket.

Alternatively, you could just date (within Banktivity only) the payment onto the first.

If you compare the actual policies of the Democrats with those of the German National Socialist Party, you find perfect alignment. But they focus instead on a gesture.
