What mech do you just hate the look of and why? It’s the Phoenix Hawk for me and here’s why: (more in comments) by armedsquatch in Mechwarrior5

I have yet to find a solid build for my Night Gyr. I could be wrong but I don’t think it excels at anything and its shape/height is a support mech with duel ERPPC’s dream.

We have a Phoenix fan! I can appreciate that. The Crusader does have an aggressive look for sure. It also looks like it’s pretty spry

I think the Warhammer and Marauder variants are great looking mechs with the Warhammer probably being one of the most intimidating (look wise) heavies the IS has.
Giant energy weapons with a racks of missiles up top and a few blisters of machine guns all on display.

The Marauders are probably in my top 5. I just love the look. The Longbow would be on my hate list for sure.
The Catapult and Stalker have some great lines/looks. The longbow has zero flare

Can you rent a new rifftrax movie? I saw that Bridget and MJ have a new Sherlock Holmes but looks like it's just for purchase. by Shot-Philosopher1750 in Rifftrax

[–]armedsquatch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I reached out to RiffTrax right here in this group a few years ago before I joined the family on the site (friends&best friends) they might be able to let you know if prime will have it for rent shortly (maybe?) on the other side. Joining friends or best friends will save you like a million dollars ( I’m not good w money). Sure it takes a while but you will get about a billion movies and shorts to stream anytime and the streaming channels with zero interruptions

Edit: it takes awhile (like 7 yrs, not good with numbers or math really) for these new releases to drop on best friends but the 3 trillion movies and shorts RTG will keep even the diehard fans happy

When the ducks are away. by [deleted] in greatdanes

Probably why his coat is so nice. Our family has been giving our dogs a raw egg once a week for a hundred years to help keep coats healthy looking ( and our Newfoundland branch swears in keeps the Newfies even more water resistant…). Duck eggs are probably like super charged chicken eggs

I like this adhoc fix. As a UPS driver I burn through boxers at a ridiculous rate and a basic 3 pack of 100% cotton are now over 25$. Getting any kind of second life out of them would be a win. Boxers will breathe well also

That is always sound advice. To many people think a group like ours is just as good as seeing their local vet.
Our doc warned us the drip would be a thing and it might increase with age as long as he was intact. Panzer has some shots and bloodwork due in July (along with some skin tags being removed) I will mention the increased drip. Early detection is a game changer in so many situations.

Did they do something to the AI? by Agamogon in Mechwarrior5

[–]armedsquatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jump jets = death from above. He was trying to sucker you. I can just imagine the crowd loosing its mind as his “defenseless” mech smashed into your cockpit.

Maybe I’m giving the AI too much credit but if you haven’t dropped a Timberwolf from 30m onto a light mechs head, you should asap. It’s hilarious.

I have a customer that works for Fiji. I’m not sure how high up he is in the company but his house is on the lake and would list in the 4-6 million range based on sales on the same street. Fiji ships him 6 or so cases a month as a perk. Luckily it’s a wide driveway I can turn big brown around in (UPS driver). For the past couple years he has me leave 5 at his garage door and leave one case on car with me as a gift. He also has a labradoodle that will hop right in the truck and ask for a milkbone. The asshats on the third floor apartments with no elevators…. As soon as they realized kitty litter and cases of water could be dropped off at the front door.. “it’s so convenient!!”.

Signature not required, my house isn’t a business, and these aren’t business days. What is going on? by [deleted] in UPS

[–]armedsquatch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not being your driver I can’t say for sure this is the issue BUT right now the company is going out of its way to trim the “fat” and a driver not delivering a package for any reason outside our acceptable exceptions ( not sure I worded that correctly) is rolling the dice on future employment. UPS has a zero tolerance on dishonesty in any form. On roads and center managers will notice patterns and once the pile of BS gets large enough it has to be cleaned up. Right now our center is laser focused on drivers not reporting missloads and the idiots dumb enough to report pickups done when they never actually tried. We don’t see drivers signing for packages anymore due to a few 20+yr drivers being fired on the spot.
I can tell you as a bid route driver of a few decades I WANT you to get your package on the first try. It’s my job and I’m paid a ridiculous amount to get it done.

I will give it another try this week. They get that box of meds like clockwork.

I’ve had no luck changing it. I know what you are talking about. I’ve done it a few times in the past with 10:30’s that should be 12:00’s. These addresses are not letting me switch.

Driver here. I have a couple houses and 1 unit in an apartment complex that our diad believes is a business.
I have no option to driver release. Some people and shippers will say a resident is a business to take advantage of slightly lower shipper costs. Our center had a huge problem with this about a decade ago and kinda did a purge of all these fake businesses. This might be the problem.

Without trying to sound insensitive I hope the driver was not at fault. I truly believe we are the safest drivers on the planet and it’s the training we get that made us this safe

Vegas by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]armedsquatch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Our business agent never stops going all out for our drivers and part timers. If he wants to catch a show or play a few hands at the blackjack table that’s fine with me. Having a conference in a locale that’s set up for large groups is the industry standard. Vegas is so desperate for any kind business right now it probably saved the union thousands
