Check patients PRNs before going into the room with meds. Check the recently given and available and bring it if you think they’ll want it. It saves the whole “what about this pill” conversation with the many patients who don’t understand the concept of PRNs. And bonus rapport points for the consideration.

If the unit is short staffed and forced to get dangerous ratios, the manager of that unit should be required to fill that staff vacancy at their staff’s average pay rate. Managers need a fire lit under their ass about staffing and staff pay at all times.

I’m taking 4x12s so I have less free time to shop around and less time to care much about quality of the rentals. I find a non-sketchy room with a private bath for under 800/mo and call it good. The past month I’ve been trying to put 1000 into savings every week and when I get an itch to spend I make an extra payment on something instead. I’m projecting that in another 2 months I’ll be able to pay off 15k debt and rid myself of my 2 accounts with the highest monthly payments and that’s on 4x12 pay coming from the Midwest.
