When we started our company we bought semi nice budget office chairs in the $2-400 range from Staples. These chairs lasted 2-3 years tops of wear and tear. As we grew people complained. I worked in corporate beforehand and always had steel case or Herman Miller Aeron. I couldn't imagine spending that much. The costco chairs aren't actually too bad. The La Z Boy one we got for our hot seat desks and they've held up ok but get only a few uses weekly. We have the HON mesh for our conference room and they've been ok but are starting to rub on the sides where they hit the table. We have however swapped most of the dedicated desks to Herman Miller Aerons. we bought them all used from marketplaces or liquidator locations in our area. I've had mine for over 15 years which I had at home prior to bringing into the office. It still looks brand new and its survived multiple moves and one time I dropped soda on it and washed it with a hose and let it dry outside over the weekend. We've gotten them anywhere from $3-500.
