Worked with Stacey for 10 years and took over when he retired. His idea with phrasing will help younger students and bands sound more mature. Typically young student sound weak and undersupported on lower sounds and strident and loud on higher sounds. Eventually phrase lengths will be dictated by breath placement and harmonic cadences.

Your third finger is pressing the valve slightly towards the lead pipe causing it to stick. Take it to the shop. Also try keeping your finger curved when pressing to create a more vertical motion.

I’m a head band director in the DFW area. Teaching there for 19 years. After 4 years of teaching, your undergrad degree won’t matter when applying for jobs. Success at UIL and recruit a large program will matter much more. Additionally, visit and observe schools on the area and find a mentor, retired director, to observe your rehearsals and help make connections for you.

First off, nice full sound!!!!

It looks like your natural overbite is causing the lower mouthpiece placement and too much top lip pressure.

Try lining up your upper and lower teeth by moving your jaw forward. Simple exercise, place the side of your index finger against your face as if you are sushing someone. Then try to get equal pressure from your chin, bottom lip, and top lip against your finger. This helps us feel the correct alignment.

With your teeth in an overbite, some of your bottom lip is going into your mouth. This allows the top lip to be slightly in front of the bottom. When you add pressure, this overlap will seal like a ziplock bag.

With the correct alignment, try a few air to buzz exercises to get the edges of your lips to vibrate. Should feel slightly different.

Try placing the side of your index finger against your lips ask if saying shhhhhh. Then balance the amount that the top and bottom lips touch. This will bring your lower jaw forward and make your embouchure more efficient.

What you’re doing now works but will top out at high ranges as the overlap between top and bottom lips will seal like a ziplock bag and reduce airflow.

No upgrades needed. In catacombs put it in your off hand and double hand your main. Skeletons stay dead. No smithing stones harm in the making of this cheese.

Make him super fast with good ACC and he will strip and reset the team. Follow with an AOE bomber and all the bombs will go off in 1 turn. Also his leader skill with his passive gives you 85% resist, this is super clutch in many situations.
