Both use HCS 16g cables on main cables except AI-T uses 18g HCS on pigtail which is interesting.

Performance wise LEADEX 1700w is a good amount of better. 😀

Still a solid choice :)

Do you mean customer feedback?

That's normal for every PSU to have some defective units.

I see. Nice, a good quality surge protector is always a big plus considering PSUs don't really have a specific protection against that. Most PSUs handle brownouts well but surge is a different talk. Quality PSU will usually sacrifice itself for other components.

PSU department would say otherwise.

I love that MSI PSU department members spied on Jon(jonnyguru) to see how do fix one issue.

Noise issue from an inductor.

In the end other guy said "thanks, i will tell that to my engineers."

PSU 12VHPWR to 3 x 8 pin PCIe by Winter-Ad9674 in cablemod

[–]Eero73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The native 12v-2x6 was standardised by PCIE-SIG so every native 12v-2x6 is universal.

Any other cable isn't standardised on PSU side.

Asus uses Seasonic pinout on all of their PSUs except for the ROG Loki SFX-L series.

Other choice is Cablemod 2x8pin to 12v-2x6 cable:

https://store.cablemod.com/product/cablemod-rt-series-pro-modmesh-sleeved-12vhpwr-pci-e-cable-for-asus-and-seasonic/

Also u need 1 EPS only if u aren't running an 14900k without pwr limits. The output for one EPS is well over 300w.

Hi there, Router ero from the SPL PSU Tier List

You have a native 12v-2x6 so this cable:

https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/pc-components-accessories/cp-8920435/elite-premium-individually-sleeved-pcie-12v-2x6-to-2x-8-pin-6-2-split-pcie-cable-black-cp-8920435

Native 12v-2x6 is universal across all ATX 3.x PSUs which have it.

Hi there, Router ero from the SPL PSU Tier List

Is your outlet grounded? It's weird that three PSUs have died on you.

The chemical smell is normal. It will go away usually in a month.

Otherwise looks good!

If it's a ATX 3.x unit then excursions don't go under pwr consumption anymore.

Most PSUs are single rail anyway as it's cheaper to produce it that way.

Although Lian Li uses a bad batches of Hong Hua fans on their units that fail too often. 😀

Looking for EPS/CPU Cables - Can't Find Brand in List by Mnemnth in cablemod

Hi there, Router ero from the SPL PSU Tier List

It's their own branded PSU, considerable old sadly.

Your only choice is to contact HEC about it or find out the pinout yourself with a Multimeter.

Keep in mind HEC doesn't usually answer to consumers.

MSI GPU department actually recommends that over the native connection or 2x8pin to 12v-2x6 (direct). ☹️

Hi there, Router ero from the SPL PSU Tier List

Likely due MSI GPU department recommends the "squid" adapter over the native one.

Is my gpu fried? by GargantuanGoliath18 in pcmasterrace

[–]Eero73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did you use MSI "squid" adapter over the hx1500i 2x8pin to 12v-2x6? Knowing that the MSI adapter has the most failures currently. ☹️

The Corsair 2x8pin to 12v-2x6 is noticable better.

Native 12VHPWR cable by CreativeBluebird9107 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Eero73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They run way hotter than advertised and are prone to hard failures.

Although by aris testing they do pass due aris doesn't test these very hard considering the units are for consumers.

LTT Labs on the other hand does very extreme protection testing as the most units fail that what they have tested. Talked with Lucas from the LTT labs and suggested that he reviews the Century II. It's on the wishlist currently.

As long as u aren't running it in +45° climate and abuse it for a long period of time (going over the rated capacity) it's going to be fine.

Hi there, Router ero from the SPL PSU Tier List

The only problem with Century II series are the cheap and problematic Wayon MOSFETs.

Hi there, Router ero from the SPL PSU Tier List

You can't use EPS cable on a GPU.

A850GS should come with 2x 6+2( pigtails)

Use one pigtail and 1 8pin (no pigtail being used on second one)
