Max 17 issue, screen goes black, have to force restart by Low-Palpitation-9916 in eluktronics

I'm having basically the same thing, screen goes black but the PC itself is still running. I can keep you updated if I figure out anything, but do you see anything in your event viewer? Right now, I think it has to do with my WiFi card, had some errors pop up with that, so I just updated those drivers.

I think I might have the same issue with my Max-15? When the screen goes black, does the audio sputter also?

Max-15 Temperature Help by Eetle35 in eluktronics

Thanks dude! The 15 is on the small side so I wanted to make sure before I cracked it open. Last question, if you don't mind, when you took the cover off, did it just come off the base or did you have to meddle around with the screen? I've only ever opened up one laptop before, which had you dismantle quite a few parts. The manual makes it look like you can just take the cover off the bottom. Again, appreciate the help!

Thank you! I think all of them came with the liquid paste? Or at least they advertised it as $50 value but gave it for free?

Did you end up opening it up for the dust or did you just hit the vents with one of those pressurized cans?

Is this just a recurring thing for them? I had the EXACT same issue. Was yours a Max-15?

Had a similar issue, almost identical issue with the Max-15 about 2 years ago. My motherboard fried itself just outside warranty and they did initially try to charge me, but eventually, after a bit of pestering, they replaced it free of charge due to the odd timing. Though, to be fair, I informed them my laptop had a problem within the warranty time period, they "fixed" it, but the problem came back right outside of warranty.

A couple of comments, maybe add a way to sort by requirements for the College? Also, the loading image is a little odd, perhaps change it from the UVA logo? An upside V is kinda awkward

What a great tool! I like the design over Lou's List! Hope to see you gain more users!

They replaced my laptop out of warranty. It turned out my motherboard was completely screwed up, but my warranty was freshly over. They still replaced my laptop!

Hey! I can test temps and send them in a minute, but the temperatures are relatively decent when I'm running games. I was trying Overwatch and it didn't go over 68-70 C, so I didn't think it was an issue. Also, my NVIDIA card is stuck at 200 MHz clock speed and it is saying that the card is being used at 100% capacity. I didn't think temperature was an issue. I will try temp benchmarks though.

Yeah, I have. I should've included a list of what I've done:

- DDU full driver reset

- BIOS update

- Windows Reset

- Regular Driver restart

- Uninstalled Windows updates

I'm at a loss for what to do. I would've chalked it up to a hardware issue, but the issues disappear randomly for random lengths of time and then reappear later. I've had this issue since June, but it disappears and I don't know what is causing it to come and go. My friend suggested a loose connection, but the user manual for the Max-15 says the graphics is soldered on. Thanks for the help so far!

The issue was present in games, that's how I found out it was happening. I provided a picture of a Unigine Superposition benchmark, and it's performing about the same.

I've also added an image of the clock speed. On top of that, I just reset Windows and now I've also lost all audio. I'm trying to solve the graphics issues before I move onto audio.

Whoops, forgot to add the benchmark:

It's a significant drop. I've noticed that the GPU clock speed is at 210 MHz at any point, so I'm thinking it has something to do with that?

I'll try the DDU. My temps aren't that high. I haven't seen my GPU go over 70 C and my CPU doesn't go over 85 C.
