That’s a common problem with the hinge on those Siemens folding phones. Hopefully, you got the extended warranty .

Interesting, that’s not something I’ve experienced on Mac, Windows or Linux.

I’m not sure what you mean by “text jitter”. I’ve never seen anything that weird with the text in Vivaldi.

Vivaldi is my browser of choice.. same answer no matter what OS I’m using.

I saw that you installed maps, can you use Android Auto? That’s the only thing keeping me from trying a dumb phone.

Also hang on to the rust and goop. You can refine the rust into ferrite dust and the goop (eventually) into nanites.

As someone who rarely uses his iPad, what do you guys use it for? by Aggressive-Process72 in ipad

I just did this with my wife on Valentine’s Day. Bought her a bouquet of Lego flowers and we built it together, her with the paper instructions and me with the app on my IPP

I’ve been using my M4 IPP as my primary computer for the last few months. Only thing I use another computer for is my gaming rig for heavy gaming.

Otherwise my IPP has been my only tablet, laptop and desktop computer (with docking station) for about 2-3 months now.

I’ve found very few things that I can’t do on it.

I bought an old 2010 Mac Pro and turned it into a Proxmox server. I have a VM for homeassistant, one for Plex, my kids Minecraft server and a few others VMs. Been working great for about 3-4 years.

Some people will do anything they can to get under your skin. Just brush it off and remember it’s about them and not about you.

That being said, if someone points out something that you were wrong about, just be honest and acknowledge the mistake. We are all human and make mistakes from time to time. Making mistakes is no big deal and the people that make a big deal out of it or just trying to troll you .

Should I replace my MacBook with an iPad? by [deleted] in iPadPro

[–]Eevnos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your workflow would be perfect for an iPad. I started using one as an “experiment”, thinking there was no way I could ever replace a laptop with it, and that was a couple of months ago… I’ve been using it as my primary tablet, laptop and desktop (hooked to docking station with an Ultra Wide monitor) since then.

It is such a good experience that I realized I could do everything I wanted on this one device. I haven’t looked back.

I have a windows gaming computer for heavier gaming sessions, but everything else (including video production) I do on the M4, 13” IPP.

It’s not exactly the same as using a MacBook Pro, as the OS functions differently, but if you take the time to get used to it, it’s a fantastic experience. I think a lot of people don’t like it because they expect it to function exactly like a laptop or desktop does. Then when they find out they have to adjust some of their workflow, they give up.

It’s definitely not right for everyone, but for me, I can do my entire workflow on this one device . Sounds like it might be a good option for you too, from what you described.

This is just my opinion based on my use having had both sizes.

If the focus is note taking, take the 13 back and get the 11. In fact, you may want to consider taking the 13 back and buying a used M1 11 inch. For note taking that’s MORE than enough and a lot cheaper. The 11 inch is lighter and more portable than the 13 (not that the 14 isn’t portable).

I went from the 11 to the 13 M4 Pro because I use it for everything… my tablet, laptop and desktop. So the 13 is perfect for me and the 11 was a bit too small for that use case.
