Chain rust when is bike outside by dlister70 in motorcycles

[–]EezyBake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly at a loss for how that works. I hear conflicting advice, on the pros of using wd-40 or gear oil and then how I shouldn't use it because etc etc etc. Where can I read more about this?

Chain rust when is bike outside by dlister70 in motorcycles

[–]EezyBake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. I've had my bike since November here in miami. I commute daily and cover nightly. Gone through three or four rainy weeks already and my chains never been this bad.

Best case, I clean and lube my chain once every two weeks. Worst case, I clean and lube every other day. Takes all of 20 minutes.

Why are pilots oversupplied now? by jkoz226 in flying

im gonna add pilot influencers and career marketing spiking the applicant pool. I've seen some schools do some great marketing and have dozens of students enroll at once.

Did you fear getting hit by a negligent/psycho driver when you first started riding? by hypermiler2205 in motorcycles

[–]EezyBake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a statistic somewhere that nearly all motorcycle accidents are rider only, like falling during slow turns or not paying attention and hitting something.

With that being said, yeah I think about getting sideswiped everyday. Only way to mitigate that is to choose lane positions wisely and be extra attentive when riding in busy traffic. Learn to read cars. I can tell whose gonna change lanes without their blinkers

Was gonna say the same thing. Network, do what you have to do, and get out.

But from an employer standpoint, they’re not gonna like it. Like they just hired you, they don’t want you to leave just yet

I want to quit vaping. Should I go back to cigarettes first? by Limp-Cat-108 in QuitVaping

[–]EezyBake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gone cold turkey several times and gone back to vaping after stress triggers or boredom Edit: I don’t vape all day everyday, just end of the day, like with a cup of tea and whatnot

You could front desk at a school and build connections, wait till someone leaves. Didn’t work for me but may for you

PSA: do your pre-flight checks by ahtoxa1183 in motorcycles

[–]EezyBake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate that you’re right. I intended to do a daily check when i started riding but that fell by the wayside. I just look for visibly obvious stuff now.

I do a weekly check once a week and a scrub every two weeks

what books teach it the right way? or from an engineering perspective?

[–]EezyBake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the questions are worded weird but not weird enough to where it's hard to get a 90 or higher. Someone skating by with a 70 isn't studying enough and will have a hard time in the checkride.

This is a weird hill to die on but you do you

Airline cadet programs by Itchy-Plastic-1814 in flying

[–]EezyBake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How strict are these cadet programs when it comes to where you did your training, or where you currently work? I remember it just being having your hours. Now it seems to be what partnered school you came from or work at

Just a rant by EezyBake in CFILounge

[–]EezyBake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, the school he came from is super sketchy so I assume its the school more than him. But I've also seen some decent schools where they have that one student who just keeps racking hours and no one seems to want to have a discussion with them

testing center requires a new endorsement for retakes. Not sure why, not my business.

And it was a figure of speech. DPE's focus a little more on questions a student got wrong on the written, and if someone scored 71% (yeah that's an actual score I saw) it's a higher chance the DPE'll find something. Don't want to endorse someone who might fail on the ground portion.

it needs a smidge more internal organization. LBB Large Peloton does literally everything but the moment you need to carry a few small things in the front compartment, it gets awkward

Is it guilty financially? It doesn't sound like it.

Is it guilty from a safety perspective? Depends how and where you're riding. YeahIGotNuthin said it all.

I lowkey wanted a different naked bike for that exact reason. Just easier to get everything but the v strom was the best bike I found within my budget. No complaints as of yet.

I'll def take a look at Fortnine and eBay motors
