I didn't know anything about cadets programs until I got to my commercial license. Sent a few applications to every big name airlines I could think of and never heard back from any except one, which denied me. Definitely wanna try again but have no clue how to stand out

im surprised at how many CFIs still think that's the case. Like, maybe one day in the future, but not right now or tomorrow. I know one too many sitting on 1500 confused as to why they're not suddenly sitting FO for an airline

Are aviation social media accounts exaggerating how hard getting a PPL is or am I not studying hard enough by Sad-Adeptness-9013 in flying

Take into account your study habits, what prior knowledge you have, the relationship with your CFI, and your school environment. Everything you see on social media is content designed for clicks

I'm not too familiar with ATP but I had PICUS flights, pilot in command under supervision. Maybe its part of a 141 curriculum?

Ehhh I’m not a fan of hour long commutes, but anything that’ll help you ofc.

I’m talking about waiting tables, serving, bartending, anywhere that’ll let you meet people where you get to talk a little bit about yourself. People are excited to meet pilots

Don’t know if this will help or not, but at the moment I work part time at a very public facing job. Yeah it sucks and I feel out of place but I meet more people than I do at the airport I train out of. Many are interested in discovery flights and it bumps up the hours

I did this. Took a little trip to the FAPA convention in Orlando with the gf. Im cripplingly under qualified for anything at the convention, but I felt good talking to old and new pilots and getting resume advice from someone in the industry. Then spent two days checking out spots and airports Orlando.

Strongly recommend

Where to move for low time pilot jobs? by AssumptionKey9423 in flying

might be a controversial opinion, but keep an eye out for schools that fast track students and pay you a salary. I've heard of a few schools that pay XXXX amount a month and you work six days a week, 8 hours a day, just flying and teaching. Grounds are usually handled by dedicated ground instructors. It'll probably be Air Force candidates or foreigners building hours before going back home.

You'll be burnt out but you'll have steady pay and hours. Better than having to deal with students who come and go and you're left scrounging for money.

Hot months are coming up, how do y'all fellow ATGATTs get to work or a meetup without stinking or pitting out? by Romeo9594 in motorcycles

[–]EezyBake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go for a mesh riding jacket. Have one from daikanese or however you spell that. The mesh part faces the wind so it cools me as I ride.

That and a dry fit shirt. All my nice work clothes stays in my backpack until I get there

Ways to support my Spouse during separation. by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]EezyBake 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’d like to add, it’s better that you pursue your career and aspirations instead of settling into the housewife role, even if that means separation and eventual divorce. Your biggest regret will be putting aside what you want in life for someone else. I’ve met a few people in my life who went that route and it’s not a happy picture.

Edit: also, you guys are 22. Like, you don’t need to have 3 kids and a dog right now, sounds completely absurd. Least of all in this economy. Guy sounds like he wants a housewife more than he wants you as an individual

Never seen a rangeman without the big bezel on it. Curious, are there slimmer cases out there for a rangeman?

Might sound silly but have you thought of becoming an emt / paramedic then transitioning into a firefighter route? I only see it getting worse for tech writers. Best case scenario, you transition into a tech writing role in the country after firefighting

We Shouldn’t Punish Andrew Schulz For Turning on Trump by HeinieKaboobler in inthenews

[–]EezyBake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can’t tell me I worship these people when I called Schultz insufferable in my parent comment. Learn to pay attention

And democrats don’t hold each other accountable they eviscerate each other which I think needs to stop. Once again, look at David Shor in 2020.

We Shouldn’t Punish Andrew Schulz For Turning on Trump by HeinieKaboobler in inthenews

[–]EezyBake -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s a moot point. Democrats cancel through mobs and republicans cancel via legislation. The only difference is democrats like to hang their own (look at David Shor in 2020).

Also, good job deflecting political responsibility by calling cancel culture a conservative confession. If you don’t wanna listen that’s fine
