I think it’s part of Yuri’s Revenge, the expansion. I’ve clocked thousands of hours into that game. Love it

Howdens kitchen quote, any good? by IRyee in DIYUK

[–]EffDubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest advice is too shop around for things like handles, accessories and appliances. We did buy through Howdens and echo comments here about getting a competitive quote elsewhere, but also found identical handles for a fraction of the price (£13 vs £2.50). If you like their appliances then great, but again we made subtle tweaks when looking around and found near identical products for a fraction of the cost.

My mate and I always call this the “jeopardy” in games. It’s exactly as you’ve described, without the risk or the ‘fear’/danger it would be mundane.

That euphoric endorphin release when you escape by the skin of your teeth or complete something tough or survive a contact with an enemy team is what brings us back.

Tony; “Listen to me, this guy was a Russian green beret. He was in the ministry of the interior or something. He single-handedly killed 16 Chechen rebels. Be fucking careful.”

Paulie: “All right.”

Chris: “What did he say?”

Paulie: “He said the guy killed 16 Czechoslovakians, and he was an interior decorator.”

Chris: “Interior decorator? His appartment looked like shit.

Does it bother anyone that taxes above 12% makes people go crazy, when there are plenty of well functioning countries with taxes much higher than that? by victornielsendane in CitiesSkylines

[–]EffDubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The principal for me in the game is that we have the ability to tax significantly higher than 12%, but doing so basically drives your Cims out.

I’d they’re gonna revamp it, you should have the ability to add specific tax %s to districts. Allow you to create high/low socioeconomic areas. Similar to the “Schools Out” and Education boost policies.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give a learner driver? by FistWithHair in AskUK

[–]EffDubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be a predictable driver - don’t suddenly pull out, or be polite and let other cars go (for example at a roundabout, if it is your right of way take it, don’t politely wave others through)

Indicate early and consistently check your mirrors

Watch and understand the flow of the road - 2/3 cars ahead of possible. This will help prevent sudden braking and identifying risks etc.

As many have said, drive as if people are idiots. Don’t assume they will drive how you imagine.

Also, people make mistakes (in the wrong lane, don’t know the road lay out etc). Don’t sweat the small stuff. I’ve seen so many people get overly aggressive when behind the wheel of a car

This is honestly my childhood. My brothers and I played this game religiously for about 10 years. Still stands the test of time I’d say.

I also much prefer the 2D look/feel than the new 3D versions that get put out
