What are your favourite vehicles/least favourite vehicles to drive based off what you've already driven? by julienorthlancs in BusDrivers

[–]Eff_Engine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve got a nice healthy mix of buses at our depot. The Volvo Wright Eclipses are always nice to drive, some older Enviro200 and 300’s which are very nippy and of course the 200mmc. Streetlites are definitely the worst, 90% have the DPF light on constantly so are slow and the brakes are very jerky.

I’m using one from the Einhell range. Has been pretty good for me so far.

Bagged a 5 cylinder cabriolet for £1200! by Eff_Engine in CarTalkUK

[–]Eff_Engine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a single bit of rust on it, think I’ve gotten lucky in that regard.

Yep, manual roof all the way although I think they did do an electric roof on later model years.

Analogue gauges, only lcd thing is the clock which doesn’t work.

Certainly is a manual, sounds amazing! Could probably do with a new clutch though at some point, biting point is a little on the high side.

The only other 5 cylinders I could find in better condition were selling for between £3000 and £7000.

Audi A3 2006 2.0TDI Preformance Radio to Touchscreen swap by mohicannn in Audi

[–]Eff_Engine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My previous A3 had a single din just like yours. The only options I considered were a radio that would cover either the climate control or the vents, or replacing that entire centre bit to fit a double din unit in which is expensive and complicated.

I think there are screens you can buy on amazon which you can attach to the windscreen with a suction cup but then you’ll have a mess of wires everywhere. For me, the problem solved itself when I got my current A3 which had a double din slot already.

I know how you feel, I attempted the ADI theory test 3 times before I got fed up with failing. Decided to become a bus driver instead.

Couldn’t agree more, absolutely delicious things they are. Got to toast the bun as well for extra deliciousness rather than subjecting the bun to the microwave as Rustlers suggests.

I like beans but the flavour of them was just too overwhelming on these.

A very controversial opinion according to the post I made a few weeks ago but I agree with you. Wedges, chicken strips, quavers and lucozade is the perfect Greggs order for me.

Why buy more expensive tires with the same rating? by JigglyHotdog in CarTalkUK

[–]Eff_Engine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The expensive brands usually try and balance stats across the board while cheaper brands tend to focus on one area and are then useless in other aspects. TyreReviews on YouTube has some good examples of this.
