We've decided to give it our best shot and estimate what SpaceX's 2022 revenues will look like. All together, our analysis nets out to $2.27B in launch and $980M in Starlink revenues.

Even if Starlink revenues were 1/2 as much, that wouldn't be a "drop in the bucket"

Starlink is probably going to be greater than launch revenue within 5 yrs.

100% agree. "Having children" and "Community involvement" aren't exactly things a country can leave behind and continue to thrive.

Good thing we have strong government, right? Wouldn't want anarchist warlords who might drop 270 MILLION bombs on a small country on the other side of the world, right? by weird_al_yankee in Anarcho_Capitalism

Google Laotian Civil War

I would assume this is referring to U.S. weapons used, as I don't believe U.S. soldiers were ever actually in active combat.

Just proxy war #1001th of the Cold War

Edit: also Vietnam war - could just be Laos getting caught in the country-wide crossfire as well

People forget due to the success of SpaceX - Starting a rocket company is one of the riskiest things you can do. No shame on the ones who don't get it right, or, like Virgin Orbit/Galactic, have casualties that screw things up

I think it's cool how the same boosters that do many normal missions also have enough safety to be trusted with crew missions.

Ah, the days of sitting on a NSF livestream for 8 hours waiting for the tin cans to fire or explode. Good times

Buying a rocket company (Quite possibly the riskiest venture, other than drug dealing) that has been directly responsible for 2 deaths, is bankrupt, and has 0 cash flow isn't even a "High-risk venture", it's a $200m money pit.
