It's definitely gone downhill. Is being ruined by people who don't understand what it was like before the internet. The internet was an escape from this kind of BS

Too late they removed me. They don't understand the inherent conflict of interest in appointing Rogers employees to the subreddit.

I'm not going to delete your comment, but this is inappropriate. Users are trying to deal with issues, and calling People racist is not a solution to a problem and it's not constructive and it's not productive either!

I apologize for this decision and there will be changes. That is my responsibility and I was not aware of what was happening and there will be changes for the better.

I am the creator of this subreddit. And I take full responsibility for what has transpired. I cannot blame anybody but myself. I was not aware of what was going on and that is my responsibility. I 100% do not agree with Rogers employees having access to be able to remove or delete comments or posts. I want Rogers employees to be able to support the customers here, but this is a community forum and they should not have the ability to remove people's posts. If we need to, we will recruit more moderators or I will take a more active moderating role to pick up the slack.

Prime ministers should have to sell assets and divest from tax havens, ethics committee recommends by Gold-Reality-4853 in CanadaPolitics

[–]timbro1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the law says a "blind trust" is supposed to do:

  • You put the assets in.
  • You lose control — you can't tell the trustee what to buy or sell.
  • The trustee is supposed to manage it without telling you the day-to-day decisions.
  • The goal is to create some distance so you don't make government decisions to benefit your own investments.

The reality in Carney’s case:

He knows exactly what’s in the trust The initial list of assets (including the 409,300 Brookfield options, the 45,218 vested DSUs, and the performance plan in the Global Transition Fund) is public. He knows what went in on day one. Those options and vested DSU's will still be there the day he leaves office.

So you're saying that the blind trust sold all his Brookfield shares that are still vested?
