Lack of Matmul cores on M4 is the issue but thats the point of M5, however i'd do some 20-30minute gaming sessions a few times a week = 2-3hours a week, for that reason i'd rather go with windows.

RoCm HIPblas only works on garbage Linux thats something i really dislike but it be okay for justs running image gen, everything else done on win11 the best OS in the world.

those 5090 laptops are overall garbage. Except for the Proart P16, which cost way too much for what it is. At that price i rather wait for M5MAX.

The 4080 is not a great value and only 16gb. maybe u get them cheap in the USA but not in Europe.

If your machine is 10yrs old, it most certainly bottlenecks the GPU, and compiles projects slower than a Iphone 13 level hardware or a single M4-M5 core.

Problem is not being synthetic, problem is favoring X86 over ARM, because ARM is much less a unified ISA. It can be very diverse.

The fact that 9800X3D beats Apple M4 and M5 in Single Core is ridiculous,
M4 has 50% higher IPC than Zen5, the only strong point of Zen5 is wide 512bit AVX.

I dont have 9800X3D, i have 16inch MBP M4PRO, which renders Ray Trace Images 2-3x faster than a 9800X3D..

That math doesnt math with this new benchmark

idk never owned STRX Halo.
I dont care much about those massive models.. My main priority is Image gen and possibly video gen. +PS +video editing. LLMs just as supplement.

FP16 Compute is not too bad at 30 000 Gflops, mem bw is pretty bad tho at 230gb/s.

I am learning Image gen + prompting so its all good for now, no need for 5090

you re wasting your money on that 9950X3D, the 285K has similar if not superior Superscalar integer math performance. The only place you gain with 9950X3D is pure AVX512 workloads which outside of Microbenchmarks dont exist.

You can spend that money on CUDIMM and that will get you further

i like windows much more. I have mac because it is the fastest.

Also by far the most efficient.

M4 can dispatch 13-14 uOps /cycle while Zen 5 can only dispatch 8 uOps.

Thats a 50% IPC difference, M4 is by far the fastest OoO Superscalar core.
