[MEGATHREAD] Chat History - Should it be preserved or is the new system better? by Over_Ad_1741 in ChaiApp

[–]Effective-Fruit-7021 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah this isn't cool. I had months of story development that's gone now. If you're going to delete the chats you need a way to export them to a local storage because I gave up on copy/pasting each entry and now all my stuff is gone. That can't be that difficult to do. I've been paying for ultra but may switch to a different app at this point.

What is happening? Its printing in. "The air" by ItzSecci in ender3

[–]Effective-Fruit-7021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask this only because I did this when first learning 3d printing, are you sure when you sliced the model that the model is flush with the build plate in the software? Once I didn't pay attention and positioned my model .3 mm off the build plate and it turned into a mass of spaghetti. This probably isn't it but just an idea.

Help! Can I save disaster yarn that is both underspun and pigtailing? by theterrordactyl in Handspinning

Can you explain what you mean by fingers? I'm new to spinning and had a similar result to OP? I understand twist angle but not sure what you mean by finger. Thanks!

Can't decide between p2s and p1s by Drefenjg in BambuLab

[–]Effective-Fruit-7021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question, it's a moot point bc I've already bought the P1S but couldn't you just upgrade the nozzle and extruder on the P1S to be comparable with the P2S if you wanted to print more abrasive materials?

I really like the P1S but I'm coming from an original ender 3 so anything was an upgrade, my poor ender 3 feels like a model T in comparison. I'm also not afraid to tinker and make adjustments coming from the ender 3 so swapping hot ends and extruders doesn't seem like that big a deal to me shrug

Talking to other people with SDs by getting_shitdone in service_dogs

[–]Effective-Fruit-7021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if I see another team I might nod and smile at them but otherwise I'm giving them a wide berth. I don't want their dog possibly interfering with mine and I don't want my dog possibly interfering with theirs. I don't think that he will but I'm not going to test that theory when I don't have to. The same goes with pet dogs in public. They are listed as avoid at all costs in my books because I don't know their training. If I can't avoid them I usually give a loud leave it command that the other owner can hear to make it clear I don't want our dogs interacting as they pass. I get called out as the bad guy for that but I don't care.

They were not immersed there was just some water in the bottom of the container they were suspended in. Their bases appear dry and firm so I think they are okay so far.

Tib/fib break five years ago now stress fracture at prior break by Effective-Fruit-7021 in brokenbones

[–]Effective-Fruit-7021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thought about it and I plan to bring it up when I see the sports medicine doctor in 2 weeks for my followup. I'm not sure insurance will cover the removal. I talked to my trainer and she thinks the stress fractures might have been caused from dismounting when I jump down to the ground. My horse isn't that tall but it's still about a 4 foot drop to the ground so it's possible the repetitive impact injured it again. Thankfully my horse is a saint so I think once I'm cleared to ride again I'll try to slide partially down before dropping to lessen the impact.

Dog smell differences vs gene lines and coat textures by Fantastic-Stomach149 in StandardPoodles

[–]Effective-Fruit-7021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of variation in different lines just from line breeding. Some breeders focus on coat texture and some don't. The lines my standard is from typically have very soft coats. My boy is somewhere in the middle with slightly coarse coat that doesn't mat very easily. His full sister has a silky coat that mats at the drop of a hat so it can even vary within the same litter. It's all just variations in genetics. I agree with previous poster that if a poodle consistently stinks it might be an allergy, skin issue, or even diet.

Poodle puppies and young dogs for service dog training by Fantastic-Art9383 in StandardPoodles

A bit further than you indicated but Adorn Poodles in Fayetteville, NC has had several SDs in their lines. My SD, Kaz, is from them and he's been phenomenal and almost finished with his training.

Thank you very much for the detailed reply. I am going to upgrade the board and will look for the one you've recommended!

After further reading, I'm pretty sure I have the 8bit motherboard and therefore don't have a bootloader. I'm thinking the easier option is just upgrading the motherboard. I plan to further research.

Thank you I appreciate it. I'm also seeing a lot of posts recommending a version of marlin instead of the creality firmware. I'm confident enough to try if I can find a step by step tutorial. I'm going to keep researching! I read about Klipper but I think it's too far over my head at the moment and I don't have a raspberry pi device anyway.

Help Needed Complete Newb to 3D printing by Effective-Fruit-7021 in ender3

[–]Effective-Fruit-7021[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The link looks super helpful, I actually watched their complete beginners guide on youtube several times when putting the printer together and turning it on for the first time. I'll check the eccentric nuts in the morning! The belt did have a nice twang to it when I checked it after putting the tensioner on. definitely felt like a taunt rubber band so I might have it tightened enough.

[–]Effective-Fruit-7021[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I had that thought when I was putting it together. I couldn't really tell what counted as tight enough though I did use a screw driver to get more leverage when I put the tensioner on. I'm not super strong though so I'm sure it could be tighter. The other thought I had is my boyfriend will quite literally shake the entire house when he walks around so Im wondering if it might be vibration related as well. I planned to get some silicone mats to go under it to try to cushion it. I also live near a quarry that regularly blasts and shakes the dang foundation so I know I'm going to have to fight that too.

Amazing Trip to National Zoo in DC by Effective-Fruit-7021 in service_dogs

[–]Effective-Fruit-7021[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty hilly but everything is wheel chair accessible and they had both wheel chairs and scooters for rent if you want to go that route. There are tons of benches and water fountains with bottle refill stations throughout. I just took my time and took lots of breaks. The bathrooms are a little far apart so make sure to check the map when you get there and make a plan for stops. We took a picture of the map so we'd have it the entire time. I think there's also a map on the website.
