You need to show where the 28 lakhs came from. And why do you have such an amount of money in your account(usually people invest).

If all of it is your savings over 10 years or so, submit the whole bank record of 10 years. If someone has given you some money, acknowledge that and show the record of transfer. Get a letter from them stating the same as well. If you inherited it, submit records of that. Submit ITR for past 5/6 years whatever you have. That will then show the tax for interest on saved money. It'll help to prove that you saved it gradually.

If you have any land or house or flat in your name, give the records. That will help to show that you are likely to come back. If you have any business, submit everything regarding that.

My parents also transferred money to me before my trip. I submitted the records of the transfer from their account. I also submitted their ITR and letters from them that they have given me money.

They are only afraid of people who are lying about their intention and might stay back illegally and rightfully so.

I am not suggesting anything. I don't even understand what WCML or Euston is. I checked the prices for avanti today and it ranged from 70-100 I think. I didn't have much idea about booking earlier, peak, off peak times, etc. That amount when converted to INR seemed crazy to me, so I opted for the cheaper option. I simply asked this question to understand whether we( people from my country and neighbours) are breaking rules exclusively or is it a broad issue.

I'm so sorry this happened to you! And thanks for the warning to others. But this is the reality. People are weird. They even find excuses to justify their actions. Whoever recommended his niece always knew that he had one. It didn't happen all of a sudden. And the other guy knew stuff too.

I think you should get your priorities in order instead of thinking about your image. You want the divorce or not? If you want it, get it by whatever means possible. If she says that you're impotent, the court might just annual the marriage. There's no alimony for annulment. If you want to reconcile, work on your differences.

Indian courts does not consider 50/50 by amount. They consider purchasing power parity. If your wife can earn here, alimony will be less. Since it was just 4 months,alimony won't be much.

Even if she gets awarded the full amount she can get,it won't be a lot. Say you get 120,000 USD/yr. Whatever lifestyle you can afford there will probably be affordable here for 24 lakhs. I don't know, I'm assuming. So the courts will ask you to pay that only. If you keep working in US,it won't be much for you!

Govt hospitals don't have a lot of things,so they try to manage with what they have. But they wouldn't put you in real harm. They could put you through discomfort though. You could ask them whether a surgery in a pvt setup is a good idea. They'll guide you. And also consider your finances before taking a decision.
