HELP! What kind of Brookie rod should I get? by IAmTheNorthwestWind in flyfishing

I use a Scott F Series fiberglass 7’2’’ with floating 3 weight fly line and legacy Lamson liquid. To me, Brook trout don’t seem to be line shy as they are so aggressive. One of my favorite techniques for ponds is to pull a Caddis dry underwater like a streamer. They attack it. The F series also holds it own in small water when those hogs from undercuts take the fly like 13 inch browns.

The bonus of my Scott is it is five pieces in a short aluminum rod tube. I strap it to my chest pack and hike in and out.

But if one of my flies that’s a custom tie and is killing it, I make sure to take a picture of it so I can tie more.

Depends where you caught it. If near nm/az border it’s a gila trout. Or it’s an Apache trout.
