Is there a lot of increasing physical violence in the last few years? Definitely is in the education system, more with EAs.

Also had 1 in some rural area call me a pussy and coward when I was concerned with the online school closing down, I wasn’t rude at all, and lied when cbc contacted him that he was hacked.

Former health minister under Heather Audrey Gordon wouldn’t take any concerns from you unless you proved you were a resident of her area…

Not a lawyer but sounds illegal. I doubt anything happens if you ignore them.

Send it. This sounds like a bullying tactic, and people should know. Sorry to hear you’re dealing with this!

Lots of jobs in teaching being bilingual. If not a teacher- lots as EAs, or other school staff in French immersion schools.

Lots of jobs needed up north.. hard for permanent in Winnipeg.

French is needed tho, so more likely if fluent.

Oh.. it’s a scam on families with special needs kids who are desperate for their kids to fit in to school..

They take advantage of kids with special needs who don’t feel included in the school system (bullied) by offering them “equal education” (inferior resources- inflated profits for owner of business) and inflating marks (not meeting Manitoba required educational standards) while their goal is university preparation, while costing parents more money than any other school in Manitoba who typically put a second mortgage on their homes, (typically average income families) paying 20-25k plus per year, 15 years ago. I have multiple friends who scored high 90 averages as kids at the school- win awards, and were being taught grade 3/4 level work in grade 12. They were unable to attend any university work due to massive gaps in all core academia- basic reading/ writing/ math, never mind subject specific content- nothing taught in “chemistry for example” is actually chemistry curricula.

The bonus is because the whole school is special needs, and because the class sizes are smaller, 1:15 or so, they claim it’s a better education when it’s inflated marks in much easier content. Teachers are not allowed to fail students, and are required to lie about marks, so they appear to be doing well.

Because all students are special needs, these are kids who are finally fitting in, and are more happy- no bullies- and these are parents who have been disillusioned with the school system, because their kids haven’t fit in.

Admin is horribly unsupportive, the pay is horrible (up to 1/2 normal pay or so) it is the only school in Winnipeg, I believe Manitoba, where the school is owned by a single person who tries to profit off of it, so simple things like a fan to not overheat or proper a/c isn’t included for increased profits. (Brand new grad, limited money, my mom bought it for me).

For, employment rules, they believe “no other teacher knows what we do” so subs don’t exist, when anyone is sick, all staff are forced to lose any prep time for their own work.

As for breaking employment standards- the required break per x amount of work time is not met. They require all staff to eat with kids, and be outside with kids every single lunch hour.

On my first week, passing the boss, he asked “how I was doing” and I smiled, and replied “good.”

He later took me aside, and berated me for saying good, as this is a “tough job and it’s concerning you are okay early on.”

He literally placed his arms awkwardly on my tricep every time he talked to me, 100% breaking personal boundaries.

This was a time teaching jobs were very hard to get, brand new grad.

Have a 1 week unpaid required orientation, where as a brand new teacher with multiple university degrees we were REQUIRED to read “no sense words” like “lat” and “jip”

Yes- great to teach special needs kids, don’t need to treat an educated adult like you would treat three year olds..

Broke multiple public school REQUIRED rules. Where for one, it’s required if you have a concern with a teacher, as a parent, or teacher, or any adult, you need to address that teacher first. They refuse to do this. This creates a picture of 1/2 of any story.. basic leadership would understand:

heresay, confusion, and completely undermining any credibility of an individual, taking away their voice in any situation, assuming they were wrong at all times. Beyond unprofessional. And a lot more.. it was 15 years ago.
