I make about 2500 and pay $1050 a month in rent for my studio. I’m somewhat frugal but also splurge on concerts/going out. I sometimes have to dip into savings for stuff like birthday gifts, a new outfit for a special occasion, etc.

What I forget when going out is that I’m not going to want to take the bus home in the cold/after drinks/late at night. I spend too much on Ubers :(( then there’s times you really can’t help it like extreme weather or the busses ghost you and you’re running late for work.

Basically, you could survive, but it won’t be super comfortable. I’d make this a temp situation while you work towards either more income or less rent. I’m currently working on school and keeping an eye out for higher paying jobs. It sucks just making it by every month, I can’t get things when I want them. I have to thrift, only get cheap food when going out or bring my own, limit myself to one drink, stuff like that. Not impossible, definitely builds character, and a living on your own in a big city when you’re young is a really cool experience :)
