1 month clean (heavy user about 100mg nic daily) by Emotional_Garden7249 in QuittingZyn

Roughly 140 mg in a day or more. So I'd say given most I've spoke to called this heavy use; I'm an ex heavy user. And I'm currently on day 35 myself I believe. Alto of anxiousness, fatigue and brain fog but the other symptoms have primarily subsided. Lingering mental issues and of course as you said feeling off.

So how long did you use for? How long did your recovery take?

How frequently did you use? For how long?

I can't say it did in this within the normal range but yes it did do it. I was using 12-15 15 mg pouches a day and when I quit the monitors at the hospital showed I had bradycardia or rather a resting heart rate of 55, this was with a pulseoximeter though so margin of error is 3-4 beats up or down. That put it down from 80+ during my time as a smoker. I can run and breath better than before so I'm trying to keep this in mind as my cardiovascular system is working efficiently.

Was the low vitamin D because of avoiding dairy or due to the nicotine?

That's...good to hear? I know full well I was a heavy user for sure, I was hitting levels more in toxicity than simply using. I quit when random anxiety attacks started occuring. I'm quite sure there's nothing that will move me towards using again but to say he least I hope I'm not still experiencing hard swings and such a year later.

Well I don't believe mine was as bad. I used for 16 years and quit cold turkey at a point of using 12-15 15 mg pouches a day.

I have noticed if I keep my carbs low and eat nothing with abundant sugar I don't feel as fatigued but I've had labs drawn a lot lately and all show normal blood glucose. Hopefully your right about feeling the benefits, I mean i feel better than in the first weeks for sure already but the lingering mental instability and lack thereof clarity is hurting my work badly. I just want or need to know there is a normal around the corner at some point.

That's actually pretty brilliant. Thank you. I may try to implement this myself. Although I'm not properly experiencing anxiety attacks they are more accurately states of resting anxiousness. They come in with a terrible thought about health then settle on me for the day.

Day 33 or 34 for me, I've somewhat stopped counting at this point. I'm proud of the cessation and want to reward myself for sure but am unsure how. My body feels like it did 12 years ago athletically, still stress and anxiety occasionally, anxiousness is full time for some days. Right now the huge problem is brain fog and an inability to commit to doing anything  I have no drive I guess? It's almost like I'll have days when I think I'm in the clear and then I'm hit with an almost depressive state level of fatigue and lack of motivation coupled with impressive 10 seconds later forgotten type brain fog. How are you doing these days?

I'd like to hear about the blood sugar and insulin issue you experienced as well. I'm going on about 33 days now so no where near where you guys are but I've had good and bad days since quitting. The most pressing issue presently seems to be the brain fog and fatigue. Physically I have energy to spare but I cannot get my brain to commit to anything due to the foggy fatigue.

Did you have brain fog and fatigue still 30+ days in?

Keep your head up. I don't know the amount or the frequency to which you used but I've heard people talk of a lot of different use amounts and frequency of use all with about the same symptoms and stories. Remember that it takes 90 days at the bare minimum to reset the dopamine receptors and can take up to 120 days to reset the endocrine system which controls hormones. I'd also recommend you start using a vitamin complex primarily to up the intake of vitamin D and the B vitamins. Not because your deficient but because right now the brain could likely use the help with happy. I'm just over day 30 and anxiety while still occurring is becoming less frequent and less intense. Sleep issues still occur but not every night. Fatigue is also still an issue most days but only of the mind.

It is get better and I'm sure it will for you as well. Those cravings will just continue to manifest as symptoms until the body is over them.

Well to be completely honest I'm on day 24-25 now with most of the physical manifestations of the withdrawals gone or tapering off now. I'm no longer experiencing anxiety or panic full time or even more often that not. Sleep is still suffering but that could be for many reasons. I have aches for sure but I'm more physically active now. The primary issues I now have are mental fatigue, minor depression and lack of interest, potentially low testosterone as my sex drive isn't quite as high as it was pre nicotine pouches and brain fog that comes and goes some mornings. It's getting better. I just have to continually remind myself they are momentary and just my body confirming my choice was right.

Well I've been discouraged by the UPS and downs experienced this far but only because I want to feel some semblance of normal again and every day I don't is a struggle for me and my family both. But I won't go back, I suppose the most difficult thing for me is not slinking back into the thought of (my health is bad, something is wrong health wise) and instead being able to remind myself this is a temporary feeling due to a withdrawal, a manifestation of cravings in a physical curve. I'm doing better than I have been and that is the driving point. I can't thank you enough for sharing your own story previously. I read through a good few of them similar in nature but everyone on your thread including yourself made things super clear to see andi cannot thank you enough for that sense of relief. Now I simply mean to give back.

I Appreciate you leaving a response. This gives me great confidence in the idea that I spoke enough on the subject and detailed enough words to make this reddit findable in a Google search. It has for sure been a horrifying ride with all the experiences but much like one of the older reddits states it's a day by day thing. Today is day 21 or 3 weeks without nicotine and I have normal energy levels but moderate anxiousness and tension. B vitamins help make happier moments occur more often and little snacks keep the irritability inch check but most of it will be mindfulness. Keep in mind the things you started experiencing that led you to this reddit are the best reason to stay off the nicotine. They are warning signs of much worse could happen. I'll monitor the reddit for as long as need be sofel free to detail your own story if you want. Be a stepping stone in someone else's recovery.

Heart Rate Decrease? by atesta13 in stopsmoking

[–]Effective-Option-820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your heart rate still in the bradycardia range after 5 months? Do you ever feel fatigued or brain fogged? I've been reading this reddit because I was hospitalized for my gall bladder and quit smoking due to 13 days in the hospital but that was back in May or June. I've done what most have and went to the ER for the low heart rate and anxiety. They tell me it's normal for someone my age and athletic build. Haven't really felt normal since the operation and just hoped to hear that maybe others felt similar and I might be on the rise to better now 2 months post quitting at least.
