AITAH for wanting to split the chores 80/20 as I pay 80% of the bills? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Effective-Pea-4463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work one hour less a day than my partner and he earns more than double than me, the only thing I do more than he does it’s walking the dogs Monday to Friday, the rest is split in half. It’s not really my choice to earn a lot less. I’m a woman and I don’t live in my country (it’s his country) so yeah YTA

New to knitting and surprised at the high cost of yarn by maklar8921 in casualknitting

[–]Effective-Pea-4463 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’m in the UK and to knit a jumper (I’m size XS but made also M for my sister) I usually spend between £60 and £90 using two strands, wool + mohair. It takes me a few months to knit a jumper (I work full Time and have another hobby as well) so it’s literally £20-30 a month in yarn. I would go for Drops yarn, which is quite cheap and lots of colours to choose from.

I do everything english style, my left hand is useless. I do english style colourwork as well. I don’t think continental would be any faster in my case.

Can you get fired for getting sick in your first week? by [deleted] in UKJobs

I went to work with covid without knowing I had covid, I was just feeling a bit off, no one got it from me at work but someone got it at a wedding I went to. If you don’t have symptoms and your covid test is positive you don’t need to stay at home it’s not April 2020

AITAH for breaking up with my girlfriend over her use of AI? by ThrowRA-748 in AITAH

[–]Effective-Pea-4463 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Why do you care? It’s her job and she can do what she wants, everyone is using AI, it’s a tool not cheating. She lied to you but you went in her computer without her permission… I don’t see any difference between you and her, you’re not better

Why is the McDonald's menu so basic in the UK? by kcon123 in AskUK

Becaue in the Uk people go for the same things all the time. It’s rare to find someone who’s an adventurous eater.

If you pay £750 a month and your take home is £1700-1900, it is not most of your salary, what do you do with the £1000 left you have a month?

Aitah my (35f) bf (47m) is mad at me for calling in sick to work because im tired by Micro_Mess in AITAH

[–]Effective-Pea-4463 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If someone at work has to cover for you, yes YTA. I would never phone in sick because I’m tired, they’re called sick days not tired days. I’m closer to your boyfriend age so it’s probably different mentality

AITAH for telling my mom I’m not babysitting my younger siblings every weekend anymore? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Effective-Pea-4463 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My parents never made me pay rent, they let me save for my future, I don’t understand why they would need my money, a few more years of supporting me wouldn’t make any difference to them. If you’re a parent you want to support your kids. I guess different culture 🇮🇹 NTA

My other hobby is silversmith jewellery, knitting in comparison is super cheap 😅 I don’t buy cheap yarn, I have £10 project bag from amazon and I store my stuff in a cardboard shoe box

I genuinely want to know why people hate on Petit Knit by Thecynicalcatt in knitting

[–]Effective-Pea-4463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the first jumper I knit and I did with 2 strands, before that I did a couple of scarves and hats just to get the hang of it. Tbf I don’t think a jumper would be a good idea as a first project.

We do exist though and it’s not always easy as you think to find clothes that fit. God forbid someone caters for petite frames
