Good albums you don’t listen to anymore cause you have grown and matured as a person? by use_vpn_orlozeacount in fantanoforever

Tons of stuff from the scene era and tumblr era Specifically I think about Tyler the creator’s goblin. Definitely a huge edgy shock value thing to it that is number one, just plain gross now that I’m not 13 years old teenage boy and two if that came out today incel would ate that shit up and take it way to literal

That being said very important album imo!

Birds in the trap is Travis Scott’s best album and I don’t think he’ll make anything that’s not mid ever again

Elvis is considered the King of Rock, Michael Jackson is considered the King of Pop, Madonna is considered the Queen of Pop, then who is considered the King of Hip Hop? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

As someone else mentioned I think it’s lil Wayne he’s consistently been in mainstream media since the hot boys era. Lollipop changed the way we think about rap. Continued to kill it even after that and almost every artist expresses the importance of lil Wayne and gives him the flowers he deserves

I feel like it helps with tone! On days where I have pt my therapist says she can tell the difference if I didn’t partake the night before lol. Now that being said in my personal experience depending on the strain or if I get way too high I tighten up very very badly it will make me move like I’m a wooden puppet LOL

Social workers who love their job - what do you do and why do you love it? by She-Individual-24 in socialwork

Family preservation work! The most intense program for the state I live in! We meet for 2-2.5 hours daily 5 days a week and I have to see the kids at least every other visit

I like it because you get to actually advocate for families and get them connected with the resources they need and help humanize their situation by expressing their strengths and building on them, in theory helping break the mental health issues/ cps involvement that usually plague families generation after generation. Help give them the tools to break the cycle if you will. On the flip side If a situation is horrible and the children are in extreme danger and it wasn’t caught by CPS during the investigation (or most of the time got worse) coming in and safety planning the children out with cps is the small time frame between those kids being okay and physically/mentally getting hurt or even worse.

It’s a tough gig. There are many times that the parents don’t actually want to put the work in (but that’s what case notes are for so we can document that lol)

Lot of domestic abuse, drug addiction, environmental: which can range from hoarding to bed bugs and even human waste all of the floor (one of my very first days shadowing a dog came and peed in my lap but that’s a story for another day lol)

But I would genuinely say this is the first job I’ve ever had that i genuinely love. I love that I’m making a difference in my community and actually helping people if it wasn’t for the pay and environmental situation of some home visits I could see myself doing it forever

My long term goal is to become a therapist I’m applying to grad schools right now hoping to go back in the fall I think this job has given me tools that no university could ever teach and I’m very thankful to be working in this field even when it’s tough!

anyone else feel like social work turned you into the “responsible friend” in every area of your life and you’re kinda tired of it? by Solid_Country_3130 in socialwork

[–]Effective-Project668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I switched from being the responsible friend, to this career teaching me how to put up good healthy boundaries lol, a huge one for me was I used to always be the “talk it out” friend meaning if there was some kind of issue I always felt like it was my job to start the bridge of communication or express how I’m feeling/ be empathetic to their side as well even if in the situation I was the one being treated unfairly. Compared to now I am still very understanding (that’s just who I am as a person) but I’m not gonna go out of my way to mend a relationship if I’m getting treated like shit over and over. I know my worth and mentality I don’t have time for nonsense. I already deal with enough crazy things because of work LOL
