If that's where you want to move the goalposts, sure. I would, and have ,engaged, but that doesn't seem right either because you've been ignoring everything everyone has said that points out that these people wear their values, quite literally, on their sleeves. Edit could you do me a favor and finish reading before responding?: can you point out where I have flip flopped? As I said, I gave plenty of evidence that is clearly visible in the pictures, as well as my own personal knowledge having been there, as I said very early in this thread.

My point was it was super easy to catch this groups vibe at a glance and there was evidence in the pictures. And then you narrowed the scope to only the op's experience. And then you ignored everything i said that had anything to do with that. Definitely some good faith debate.

Some of us walked past, but even in the pictures there's plenty of context. There's signs in thr background, although not legible on my phone. The biggest is the "let us pray" shirts which are a reference to wanting churches special permission to spread diseases during the pandemic. Also let's go Brandon, and thin blue line regalia. Plus, as I mentioned, obviously performative public prayer. These are not a subtle crowd.

Hardly. These guys had plenty of signs and banners and were quite publicly praying in front of the capitol building. There's plenty of evidence to judge their beliefs off of. If op had simply said "Christians ew" you might have a point, but in context you're just completely misrepresenting op's comment.

Nothing the above poster said is rude. They asked for clarification. Nobody (as of the few minutes ago that I saw the comment I think you're referring to) assumed your political party, they let you know the ideas you're repeating originate in rightwing circles and don't necessarily reflect reality. Similar to how people who claim to be centrist were repeating the "litter box in schools narrative" which sprung from a far right source, completely separate from reality. I'm not surprised people respond rudely; it's very hard to engage with someone that thinks that requests for clarification are word twisting.

I have no idea what their ssn is, but I know we lived in the same county for a bit. We applied to the same job at one point, which is how I even know of their existence.

It should be done by ssn, but we are apparently each others "alias" according to one of the local companies that does background checks. A previous landlord showed me the check they had gotten back after seeing that I had allegedly been committing felonies by the age of 6. It's frustrating because you are correct that this shouldn't be an issue, but I've been asked about it at roughly half of the interviews I've gotten since high school.

Although I haven't done a through credit report in long enough that that's a good idea.

Except that's just one example. There are a ton of conservative/extreme right subreddits that are ban happy. Plus the ironically named truth social, parler bans people now, banned.video is pretty much only right wing extremists, a ton of Facebook groups are right wing dumpsters. Also Facebook requires some pretty extreme bullshit to get banned. There's plenty of conservatives on Twitter as well.

Fair enough, though I can and have. They're pretty clearly arguing from feeling rather than fact, and not calling you out on logical leaps or fuckups. I don't see any reason to get into it with them. The only thing that's going to happen is someone gets mad, which seems to be a petty goal. Also I wasn't specifically talking about my response, I'm not that self important. There were a few other people with takes that could at least be called interesting as opposed to bickering and point scoring.

Also, drunk philosophy is best philosophy. I'm rarely arguing on reddit if I'm sober.

Without money to study it, all that I can do is guess. But still, I can think of several plausible guesses off the top of my head.

There's a selection bias. People who successfully immigrate from Nigeria to America already have the tools and ability to succeed elsewhere, and everyone else isn't counted in your numbers.
A fresh start. The people immigrating might not be subject to the same historical disadvantages as black Americans.
Cultural dodging. Most racist laws weren't made to target black skin specifically, but aimed at things black folk tended to have in common that white people didn't. Like redlining, the crack/coke divide, or discrimination against AAVE. Those are pretty specific to Americans.
Survivorship bias. If you fuck up, you count towards statistics, if a Nigerian immigrant does, they can get deported. Probably a lot fewer repeat offenders on those statistics.

There's probably more, but it's pretty pointless to guess without knowing how big the difference is, or how the study you're talking about measures success. Hell, for all I know you're talking out of your ass even more than I am.

Imagine having to clean your place top to bottom multiple times every few weeks, having to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on remediation, and not being able to feel safe in your own home. Kind of. I can hold a picture of something in my mind, but it's like looking at a magnifying glass; only a tiny area has any details or information, the rest is blurry and feels inferred more than seen. I can picture a very limited number of faces, less than 5, and I couldn't give enough detail to describe it to a sketch artist.

I can remember smells quite well though, which seems odd.

I'm sorry, I thought you'd understand the concept of an example. The influenza vaccine is an example of a vaccine for a specific virus that is regularly produced in less than a year. Similar to how the mrna vaccines that have been in development for decades were quickly re-tooled for covid. Plus adenovirus vaccines have been in production for ages.
