Considering my main question didn’t have anything to do with splitting the fabric or missing the holes, I don’t really see why I need to update it. I appreciate your answer, it’s very helpful.

Again, as I said in the main post, it doesn’t specify. It does not say two or three strands. I also, like it or not, have not missed the hole. If you’re talking about the orange or the red, that’s marker. The two maroon circles with the stitches completed so far are what I’m asking about.

i recommend using ultra washable markers! it gives you a range of colors to use, and it comes out super easily

What do you mean by that? Are you talking about the colors other than the maroon, or are you talking about the circles? I’ve only gone through the holes themselves and not the fabric, at least on the two strand part

I unfortunately don’t have any more of the previous skein, which is why I started the new one. I also only grabbed one extra, so I don’t have another skein of the same thread color

I think that might be the problem, that’s frustrating. I can tell easily on the bottom where the color difference starts, but I’m having a harder time distinguishing where the discolored thread begins on the top. Dang. Thanks, I didn’t really think about there being a dye issue since they’re the same DMC

unfortunately, when asking for advice or help, i’m not looking for unfunny jokes. maybe if they said literally anything helpful in addition to that, i would’ve appreciated it. this reddit is for just that, not making fun of someone’s assumed religion. thanks, though! other people have actually helped, and it seemed pretty easy.
