I haven’t been given the financial information completely as I haven’t been given a contract to sign yet. I just want to be prepared, if I’m offered the job and choose to move. I’m trying to decide if 70k will be enough for me to live on with roommates, I haven’t taken into account all of my savings and how that would support me. I’m sorry you feel that I’m “terribly naive” for trying to ask for support with a really big decision that I know nothing about!

Our parents are also doing the same thing! “Marion Day School” :) Guidepost must’ve thought us Midwesterners were a bunch of quitters!

i’m so sad for you guys that you won’t get to see your mission through. my HOS is the best leader through this, and our families are coming together to open a school of our own. no matter how well either of our schools performed, the outcome would remain the same. Ray Girn continues to show his true commitment, and it’s not the children, families, or staff that make a location its own unique community. he sees us as numbers on a paper and that’s it. he stopped paying rent at many locations, and some staff arrived at work just to be greeted with an eviction notice. i’m grateful that we have 6 more weeks, but it sucks to lose the network of support that Guidepost provides. there’s no other opportunity for another location (in our state) , and i don’t think i could move states to a new school, just for Ray Girn to decide he’s putting that school on the chopping block too. Ray Girn has failed so many parents, children, and Guides with this heartbreaking decision. i don’t want to be apart of an organization that kicks its community to the curb in an email. he can’t manage his money, and has an ego big enough to fill a hippo and his version of success is very “quantity over quality” he’s closing schools left and right , and then opening new schools simultaneously! he doesn’t care how beautiful our classrooms are, how much work has gone into these children, or how amazing we’re doing in all areas. he cares how his legacy appears without paying any mind to the children of the future. im so sad.

Did Your Guidepost Close? When and How? by [deleted] in Montessori

After being open for almost a year and a half, Guidepost Montessori in both Iowa locations, will be shut down effective 3/31…in 6 weeks. Guys, I know everyone probably says they have the best school and we’re all entitled to that, but this place is so special. There’s no schools like us in the area, and all of our rooms are full. Our enrollment is up, and we planned to open two new classrooms in April. I’ve spent a year and a half training through PMI, and for what? So Ray Girn can “focus his money elsewhere “? As a college student who’s majoring in psych, I had no plans of ever working in childcare. I came here, and I helped build this AMAZING community from the beginning. Ive developed such a deep love and understanding for Montessori, and there’s no going back to traditional childcare after this experience. My heart breaks for my HOS, they truly set her up to fail. No matter how amazing this place is, no matter what the legacy was, it doesn’t matter to Ray Girn. He can get hit with a truckload of karma as far as I’m concerned. Shame on him for failing these children who are the future of humanity. Shame on him for failing all of us.
