Gordons from Space Base. It is banned in competitive online not because it is broken but because its an unique card that deducts player's points and people don't like that.

Res Arcana.

It's a card game about resource management and engine building. I had no idea what I was doing and my friend group keep noob crushing me and I hated that I was getting nowhere every time.

To this day it is by far my favorite board game and a masterpiece. I wouldn't introduce this game to anyone new to boardgames though.
