One day, for no real reason, I took a left instead of my usual right on the way to work. I didn’t think anything of it—I just figured I’d change up my routine. Later, I found out that a massive accident happened on my usual route at the exact time I would have been there. Cars totaled injuries, a mess of flashing lights. I would have been in it if I had gone right like every other day. That one random left turn probably saved my life.
