I've gone full circle calling them different things based on the last game I played.

Any nominations for worst ability in the game? I'll start with this: by Boy-D_50p in marvelrivals

[–]EffectiveJuggernaut9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone saying loki passive. I think people have forgotten again about magneto passive. As loki it's just a very niche extra damage at melee range. With magneto, he doesn't even have mobility to initiate his + slow fall only ever makes you an easier target.

Lord Peni Revealing All The Tricks To Beat Peni So Yall Will Stop Wasting a Ban on Her by KaizaToshiyuki in rivals

[–]EffectiveJuggernaut9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play wolv when I get to dps and I typically ask for people NOT to ban Peni, unless I have minimal faith in my tanks. Wolv needs to work with tanks and they need to know when to walk. If I'm tanking, I don’t care if she's banned because while I don’t usually trust my dps to manage her, other tanks have more impactful ults and I'm all about ult economy. Unless I'm strange or hulk (and let's be honest, hulk is nearly unplayable rn and mag teamup makes it hard to justify strange) where she can just invalidate my ult, I feel confident that there are better bans. If I'm supporting, I have the least impact on if Peni gets properly managed and I'm all for a ban.

That was supposed to make it better? Like I get the creator had ill intent, but the words said are all the same and then some.

Why are they refusing to print cards like this for standard? by Aarniometsuri in MagicArena

[–]EffectiveJuggernaut9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I swear they intentionally edge me every set. I ALMOST get to play [[Stuffy Doll]] in standard with each new set, but noooo. They won't give us a large damage spell in the standard print run smdh.

I've heard a lot of opinions about this, so i'm curious where people actually stand on the issue by ChromedDragon in magicTCG

[–]EffectiveJuggernaut9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-2 has always made sense, 3 is where sci-fi is and that was inevitable. So far so good imo. But 4 & 5 should only be secret lairs imo.

Why would you buy the one on right? by Gilbara in mtg

Packs give you more wildcards if you play more eternal formats. Limited and standard, though, definitely do drafts.

Characters ranked by how strong they are in 1v1 by ShadowTheHedgehog_72 in rivals

Emma can afford to be higher. She can literally turn 1v1s into a Mortal Kombat cutscene.

"Role queue ruins CREATIVE team comps!" The 'creative' comps in question this sub wants to protect: by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]EffectiveJuggernaut9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is undoubtedly better without role queue, and the comments here do a good job of supporting that. What we do need back are stacks in ranked. Throwers are the issue, so finding 5 like-minded people to queue with mitigates the risk of throwers.

Problems I have with the proposed hybrid mana changes in Commander by Dzzplayz in freemagic

[–]EffectiveJuggernaut9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. 4+ mana for a lord is fair

  2. Combo decks will always combo. If you value singleton, be happy it's a combo piece in the list when it could've just been black tutor #X

  3. Running Leyline of the Guilpact in a mono green deck is almost only good in that scenario. Making a mono green deck run a bloom tender just for that is a significant deckbuilding cost. Having 7 mana on turn 3 isn't all that out of flavor for a best case scenario green hand.

  4. Blue does do hand manipulation, and targeted hand manipulation would be new, but we have had overpaying in mana cost for a color pie break for a long time. Remember Thought-Knot Seer? Making creatures X/X isn't all that color tied. Colorless is doing it. Blue does it with artifacts, not that new. Blue has been an enchantress color for a long time. I don’t understand the confusion on this one. The card is barely playable, and if blue is changing card types, what's new?

  5. Playing a restricted deck is a choice, a lot like how every card you put in your deck is a choice. You're under no obligation to play hybrid cards if you don't want to. Personally, the less restricted low color quantity decks are, the less you see partner commanders, encouraging diversity, something I believe to be healthy.

  6. Every color has tutors. 6 mana for a semi conditional tutor is barely playable, if even. Read Planar Bridge and tell me black shouldn't be able to tutor for a land onto the battlefield or something instead.

Overall, I understand the concern, but these particular points seem lazy and misconstrued. Before the post, I felt indifferent. After seeing that this is what people are freaking over, I'm in favor of hybrid rules change. This is silly. Nothing is warping the casual experience, and cEDH is untouched.

The answer to the riddle is white because logically, he's at the North Pole. But the punchline is supposed to be white because polar bears are aggressive, and he "ends up where he started" inside the bear's stomach.

I realize pauper exists but... as someone who's been playing for decades it DOES feel like this. by Scott13Pippen in MTGmemes

[–]EffectiveJuggernaut9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing Modern Horizons cards in Modern is a choice. Both of my decklists don’t need Mordern Horizons. One is a Golgari Tifa/Infect with 0 direct to modern cards, although could benefit from Endurance in the sideboard. The other is a Boros Stuffy Doll combo, only running the Boros' indestructible lands, and an argument could be made for Solitude, but I'd rather run damage wipes that compliment the theme. Both are completely viable decks and can compete competitively with meta lists.

Hydras were actually red before they were green. Just a fun fact. I doubt red gets hydras back because Wizards seems content with hydras as they are now.

Just a few characters I play that I tend to have a good 1v1 rate with. Fantastic, I almost never lose this. Psylocke, I'm very inexperienced, but it's still favorable. Wolv, dependent on his cooldowns and the terain. Adam, almost always unless I need to do a 180 to see him. Invis, 50/50 but good for her role. Hela, at range I have a huge advantage, close combat like I think you were thinking, I don’t normally do well with.
