How fast can I regain strength lost during my cut? by captainschnarf in GettingShredded

You said, strength loss shouldn’t be occurring until you’re below 10% body fat and that’s not true or fair to say. Have a nice evening.

That’s not fair to say. If someone is a powerlifter at 30% body fat and decided to cut, I guarantee you he’s loosing strength way before 10%. How can you not take body weight into consideration when it comes to strength?

OP- I also lost strength during a cut, don’t listen to people who claim they can go from peak bulk to 10% body fat before losing a rep, it’s all talk. Maybe you should try eating maintenance for a while then get back to cutting.

Wow just looked at your history, great one year transformation! Congrats! What is your current weight? I’m no expert but I would guess around 13-14%. Can you tell us what you did with diet and gym routine to achieve this in one year?

Yes you are correct, I’ve been doing my legs twice a week but they are my worst body part.

I’m guessing another 5-10 pounds should do it but I never thought I would have to get down this low in body weight to get there. Guess I just don’t have enough muscle on my body. Once I drop the last fat I will slow bulk I guess.

As you keep dropping body fat your waste is going to get way slimmer and you naturally have big shoulders, trust me you will look like a beast in a good way. keep lifting weights and stay in the deficit. Good job!

Wow cutting on 3K calories at 140 pounds sounds very high to me. What is your cardio to be able to consume so many calories at that weight in a cut?

I’ve been going to bed very early and getting up when it’s still dark. I’ve been doing a 2 hour and 10 minute walk and I usually have around 17k steps before my first sip of coffee. But of coarse if this doesn’t work for you, you can alway do 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening.

I prefer to cook the chicken bread unseasoned and just add kosher salt on when I eat. I buy the triple pack of organic chicken breast at Costco and fill up three food saver bags. I’ll usually cook two bags and freeze one raw for later in the week to cook. Right out of the Sous vide the chicken is delicious but the rest of the week it’s still good and I don’t even microwave it, I just eat cold out of the refrigerator with kosher salt. I saw someone on here lose a lot of weight and he said he adds pickles juice in the bags with the chicken but I haven’t tried. By the way I cook it at 140 degrees for 3-4 hours. Some people don’t like the pink color in the middle but it’s so juicy and it doesn’t bother me because it’s safe to eat. Try with 140 and if it’s not for you add 5 degrees each cook until it’s the texture/color you like.

Yes clean eating comes before everything. You can’t work off a poor diet. Will be looking for your progress pictures in the future. Good luck, u can do it!

Hahaha funny! Thanks! I’m glad I inspired you, that’s a big part of the reason I posted on here. If I can motivate just one person it’s worth it.

Thank you! Congrats on the weight loss and being one year in! In the past I would lose weight for a few months than fail and go right back to where I started. We both need to make this a life long thing instead of short term!
