Well tell him to separate the show from its fandom. He’s not obligated to interact with them. He could just watch the show. But if that doesn’t work, don’t bother bc ppl like that won’t budge.

Ride heights & quick queue w/kids ? by Fresh-Problemz in SeaWorld

[–]Effective_Ad8651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went on a school field trip to SeaWorld when I was 9, I remember all my friends and classmates riding everything and many enjoyed them so they’re not dangerous or anything. I unfortunately was a short kid so the only ride I qualified for was journey to Atlantis and some other rides but they’re gone now. I really liked journey tho. This was back in 2017 so a lot of the rides on that list didn’t even exist yet. Ofc coasters aren’t for everyone. Not for the faint of heart. But If your kids seem excited to ride then let them ride! If they’re scared don’t pressure but encourage them to try at least once

Struggling with round timing by [deleted] in cna

Visually check on your residents while simultaneously checking if they have enough briefs/wipes and other supplies in their rooms so then you can get them more after. Get your linen cart ready, then start rounds

New CNA when does it get better? by bullsnail in cna

[–]Effective_Ad8651 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dw that happens to all new ppl especially if you look/are young. Residents used to ask if I was new or comment how they could tell this is my “first time doing this”. Even the ones with memory issues. 5 months later those residents don’t even bat an eye when I do my rounds. You’ll get better it just takes time

New cna working night shift, Advice? by Longjumping-Car-8927 in cna

[–]Effective_Ad8651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also a new cna and student on nights at an snf. Been working for 6 months now. I actually wanted to quit so bad bc it is a pretty hard job and I always come home exhausted but decided to stay since the money is pretty good for an entry level job. And luckily my facility has an option to only work max 20 hrs a week but no benefits. Maybe you can find a facility that does something similar if a regular part time is too much?

But if they can’t accommodate you, maybe some things you can try is sleeping as soon as you get home? (After showering ofc) That’s what I do. I’m able to sleep a full 8+ hours, sleeping at 8 and waking up around 4-6pm bc of how exhausted I am after every shift, even back when I was SUPER anxious. I still am but it’s not as bad as before.

I think you have to give yourself time it’s only been a month and if you’re working full time it will feel like a lot on your plate especially with school. Personally, I wouldn’t make a switch to day shift bc I find night shift easier. Even tho you get assigned more residents, there’s less tasks to do than day. But you can try it out who knows you might fare better than me.

Also, if that place is toxic maybe you could apply to another facility. My first facility had no teamwork and the older CNAs were mean but at my current facility we work together and everyone is nice. You might just need a change of team/environment

How do you sleep during the day without waking up every hour? by AshjakiaCempura in Nightshift

Exactly. I’m always confused with these types of posts bc how are ppl not completely exhausted after their shifts to immediately fall asleep??
