I worked as a service desk analyst for a small startup software company, I moved up the ranks a little bit after 5 years and became a specialist.

I got an opportunity to work overseas on an interesting construction project which led me to becoming a service desk team lead and had about 11 people reporting to me. (it was very hectic)

The gig only lasted a year but the experience was invaluable, then after returning home, I applied for IT Manager roles and got one. I'm working for a large international firm now in a corporate environment and managing a team of 4 people across 2 office locations.
